I almost wasn’t going to post this video clip from Janet Jackosn’s upcoming music video for her song “Nothing” because there is really “nothing” to see here.
This is probably the lowest budget music video of Janet Jackson’s career. Judging from her monotone vocals, it looks like Janet made a wise choice to hang up her headphones and call it a night last week when she told Rolling Stone magazine that she would no longer record any more albums.
It won’t load here
Wow, she looks like Rebbie. That is all.
Some of you rudely suggest that I disappear for a minute, but Janet really needs to take a leave of absence from entertainment. Watching her interviews promoting her new movie is really painful. She has not taken any time off from the limelight to mourn the pain, guilt and anger of losing Michael.
im sure it’s painful even moreso because it’s almost the first thing every interviewer is sure to ask. she’s trying to be a trooper and promote the movie, since she is the star. man, what can one do?

The show must go on. Ppl mourn differently. I know the Jackson family knew Micheal needed help and they could not reach him. They know now they don’t have to worry about him anymore, he is at peace.
ehhh not gonna watch the clip… I’m soo not interested in Ms Jackson
Hello All. Poor Janet. She hardly opens her mouth when she sings, and we all know that when great singers sing, you can almost see the inside of their stomachs, they mouths so wide. But you go head girl, do yo thang and make that money cause the real money maker, the greatest Jackson, is gone. I know you miss him, we all do. Peace.
Never have been impressed with Janet’s vocals…BUT being a Jackson does (well did) have its perks. Definitley not surprised that this video/song are snoozers…
RETIRE Janet, RETIRE!
The video looks low budget as hell and Janet needs her a$$ stomped for letting someone convince her to put that wig on, but I actually love the song and think her vocals were pretty good on this one.
On another more SERIOUS note (simply because I feel it deserves visiting and will possibly cause black people to do some self reflection):
Madonna can be 50 years old and still go on tour and sell out in every city. Cher can be 60 and still go on tour and have to ADD shows, Aerosmith can go on tour and look like death warmed over, but still sell out Madison Square Garden…The Rolling Stones are in their mid 70’s and can go on tour and be one of the top grossing tours of the year.
The Temptations can go on tour and have to do theaters and are LUCKY to sell out one of them, The Jacksons <– well, without Michael and the fact that EVERYONE hates Jermaine, I won’t use them as an example, The O’Jays can barely sell out a high school auditorium, Patti Labelle can go on tour and has to appear in a running tour with 4 other people in order to sell out, Peabo Bryson and Deniece Williams couldn’t sell out H&M in Atlantic Station… is it started to make sense?
Why are BLACK people the ONLY group of people who encourages OUR artists to go away, while white people support their artist until the very end? This is EXACTLY why black artist don’t sell music and pull so many stunts as they get past 32 – the typical shelf life for a black artist is about 6-8 years. If you don’t make it by the time you’re 25, you can forget it.
I feel so bad for us that we don’t support one another in ANYTHING.
Where Janet and Whitney f*cked up is they stopped catering to white people and started trying to appease black people who were SURE to turn on their a$$es eventually anyway. They were HUGE stars when they were still doing pop music – they should have kept doing that.
She may have not been great vocally but she could dance her azz off. I hope she brings it at the Essence Festival.
@carrington while u do make some valid points Janet was shunned n banned from YT folks after nipplegate then she decided to “come back home” she didn’t come back to us on her own. Janets music sucks now IMO if it was still hawt I wld support it n her. She can do Vegas I’m sure she wld sell out every night.
I honestly think Janet lost her zeal for music a long time ago. I would like her to continue with acting since that is her first love and true passion.
Carrington I agree with you 100%. That is why when people talk ish about Oprah and her YT fans, I ask them do you think she would be even half as successful catering to us? Not hardly.
@ Daisy, you make some valid points as well, but do you think that the fact that we DON”T buy albums and support our artist had something to do with the fact that she was pop to begin with?
At The Original, I know, right? It ticks me off that Oprah Winfrey is the most successful black woman EVER, she does so much to help EVERYBODY, especially black people and WE’RE the ones who hate her.
Now, Barack Obama hasn’t done a SINGLE thing to even address the fact that WE came out in record numbers to vote his ass into office – not even the decency to say, “I want to give a special thanks to the African American Community for voting for my a$$…” but we love the hell out of him.
Go figure.
@carrington I buy cds by both YT and black artist. I can say I have never bought a Janet cd not even during the height of her career when I was growing up
I am team Oprah but I did feel she fell off n her shows didn’t appeal to me at all but I record her daily
I am team Obama as well regardless if he thanks me publicly I don’t recall Bill Clinton saying thanks to black folks but I cld be wrong.Prez Obama thanked ALL of those who voted for him in his speeches.
This video looks boring as hail! I’m on to the NEXT one….
Sandra, I heard that Phaedra is expecting a bundle of joy with her former jailbird husband? IS this true????
Why should she retire? I like the song personally.
I
Janet
@ Daisy,
I buy everyone’s CD too fro Carrie Underwood to Ludacris, but that doesn’t negate the fact that the people who are the most vocal about OUR artist are the SAME ones who buy their CD’s at the barbershop or the beautyshop from their “cd man”.
And as far as Team Obama – I feel like Tavis; “I’m amazed at the number of people who required Bush’s, Clinton, Reagan and others to address black folk, but now that Obama is in office, suddenly we’re OK with him including us “in that number”. Not me!
If we had come out in record numbers and voted HILLARY in, we would have expected something in return, if nothing else, a “thank you” – but Barack Obama… nooo, HE doesn’t need to address black people.
Question: When he’s out of office (and SURELY he will be a one term president) how do we go about approaching the next WHITE Administration about what THEY plan to do for African Americans when we’ve been so vocal about NOT needing a black agenda with the BLACK man? If Obama can lump us into the same category as everybody else and ignore the fact that the black community has special needs, then how ridiculous do we look when we’ve been set back and made no progress because the NEXT administration says, “You didn’t need it with HIM.. you don’t need it with ME.”?
I wonder what excuses Al Sharpton will make then?
Just a question…
Ok Sandra let me get your ass together. First of all Janet has not stopped making albums. In her new interview in “USA Today” she stated that she will make more albums and that she read somewhere that there was a rumor that she would not be making anymore albums. Janet stated “this is not true and that she loves music too much to stop.” She is taking a small break but is working on other movies as well. This woman has sold over 100 million albums so why would she quit. Your hatin ass need to get off Janet. Another thing why does she have to release a big budget video everytime. The woman has made the most expensive video in history so what can you say about that. All i have to say is that you need to stop hatin on Janet, Trey Songz, Beyonce and others because it is not a good look for you.
Sandra, I still don’t see where she said she’s QUITTING music? All I get from this is she isn’t sure what direction she wants to take yet as far as her label home and therefore isn’t currently working on an album. *shrug*

“There have been a lot of record labels that have asked me to sit down and talk with them, but I don’t know if I want to do something completely independent, or go with a major… I haven’t decided on exactly where I want to go or what I want to do.”
