The presidential election is right around the corner, but first lady Michelle Obama has other pressing concerns on her mind. It seems the Obamas aren’t sure if they will move back to Chicago when, or if, Mr. Obama loses the election.

The first lady stopped by a Virginia YMCA yesterday where she answered questions from elementary and middle school children. One intuitive adolescent asked Mrs. Obama where her family would live if President Obama loses. The First Lady reportedly responded they would “figure that out later,” according to the pool reporters.

Another perceptive youth asked Mrs. Obama whether she likes Barack Obama. “I do like Obama, I like him a lot,” Michelle Obama said. It’s worth noting that Mrs. Obama referred to the president as “Obama” rather than “my husband,” or the more informal “Barack.”

Mrs. Obama urged the children to eat their vegetables, then she turned and left the YMCA with her sizable entourage.

Update: Hillbuzz.org thinks they know where the Obamas are moving after the elections are over: a $35 million resort style residence in Hawaii.

Apparently, Michelle’s mom, who babysits the Obama’s daughters, says she’ll be moving to Hawaii next year “permanently with her daughter and granddaughters.” Either that means Michelle is planning to leave her husband and move to Hawaii with her daughters and mama, or she fully expects Obama to lose the election.

Thanks to Sydney Jane for the tip on the Obama’s new residence!
