A Providence, Rhode Island, mother is under arrest for siccing her two pit bulls on a pushy reporter.
Melissa Lawrence's teenage daughter, Ny'Asia, was shot during a family member's kindergarten graduation party, reports local ABC affiliate WLNE.
Things got nasty when WLNE reporter Abbey Niezgoda showed up at Lawrence's front door to get a reaction to the shooter's arrest.
Lawrence demanded that Niezgoda leave her property, but the undaunted reporter refused to leave even after Lawrence wielded a bat and chucked rocks at the cameraman, scraping his arm.
"We think the interview is over and we're about to leave," says Niezgoda, 24, who asked Lawrence "Why are you attacking us?"
"Get away from here!" says Lawrence as the dogs rushed the camera and then pursued the whimpering reporter across the street.
The camera continued rolling as Niezgoda dropped her microphone in the street and sprinted into an alley to evade the growling animals.
Lawrence was charged with 2 counts of felony assault. She was later released on $50,000 bail. Her next court date is August 8.
