Heavily armed prison guards were forced to remove cop killer Ronell Wilson from a prison recreation yard when he refused to leave. The incident took place on September 14, 2012 at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY.
The NY Post reports that the 25-minute prison extraction process was captured on video and admitted as evidence in Wilson’s ongoing death penalty trial.
The video begins with each prison guard explaining his role in the extraction process per prison policy. The extraction team moves into position behind the door to the recreation yard. A prison official can be heard ordering Wilson to stick his hands through the door so he can be handcuffed. But Wilson refuses and shouts “Suck D–k!”
An officer tosses a tear gas canister and a flash bang device into the yard to disorient the prisoner as guards rush to take him down.
Wilson is handcuffed and taken to a holding cell where guards change him out of his sweat pants and into his prison uniform. At one point Wilson can be heard asking “Can you get some different boxers, man, that fit?”
Wilson was 17 in 2003 when he shot and killed two undercover police officers after a gun buy went horribly wrong. He is incarcerated at the Detention Center while awaiting a re-trial. Wilson’s death sentence was overturned on appeal in 2010.
In February, federal officials arrested former prison guard Nancy Gonzalez, 29, and charged her with illegally engaging in sexual activity with Wilson.
Gonzalez, who worked the night shift, was reportedly seen by other inmates going in and out of Wilson’s cell. According to court documents, Gonzalez had sex with Wilson in a vacant activity room next to his cell when she was supposed to be on duty.
Wilson was transferred to solitary confinement in August when prison officials learned of the illicit relationship.
