Actress Gabrielle Union, 40, and Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, 31, spent the day staging a photo op for photographers on the beach in Malibu, California on Saturday. The photo op was necessary after Wade spilled the beans that he and Gabby took a break from each other this summer.
Wade, who reportedly cheated on Gabby with a NBA groupie during the 2013 NBA playoffs, placed the blame on Gabby.
“Celebrity relationships are very hard, and, for us, this was a big year for us in our relationship from the stand point of she was shooting her show Being Mary Jane, [she was] gone most of the year,” Wade told Jay Leno last week.
Wade added: “I was dealing with my injuries, trying to win a championship. So we kind of took a step back for a little while. But at the end of the day we came back together and said we want to continue this, and she’s been with me all summer long, and we’re going strong now.“
To prove to the blogs that she is still very much in control, Gabby called the paparazzi to arrange a photo shoot.
Gabby — to whom image is everything — took over the man’s role by pulling Wade close to her and kissing him as the photog snapped away.
But once again, Wade’s body language betrayed the real story.
On Friday night the couple attended a pre-Emmy Awards party in Los Angeles.
Gabby has a slew of movie projects to keep her busy, including the sequel Think Like a Man Too and Finally Famous, both scheduled for release in early 2014. And her TV series Being Mary Jane will premiere on BET in January 2014.
