Nia Long Is Back On The Market

It looks like the Dopamine has faded for actress Nia Long and San Antonio Spurs Assistant Coach Ime Udoka. Loyal reader Nikke Brown writes: “Funny, they didn’t sound broken up in any of her press interviews for The Best Man Holiday…”

And in a previous interview, Nia made it clear she wasn’t interested in a man putting a ring on it.

“Marriage is not a priority for me. I’m not saying I’ll never do it; It’s just not where we are as a family,” the mother of two revealed in the August issue of Essence.

Tacky, he was probably a womanizing a**hole who only wanted Nia because he liked her in Love Jones. She can do better, but I am concerned that none of the woman in Best Man Holiday are married, but the men sans Morris Chestnut are married to white women. It’s a sad day when a black woman cannot be loved by her own men.

I’m sorry to hear this.

Love is love and just because you’re not married doesn’t mean you don’t have a bond or commitment. Some people stay BF/GF longer than some people stay married. Some states have common law marriage so it protects those couples who built a home without the I do’s. Plus there are wills when someone passes on.

I’m all for marriage and it’s a great thing but I won’t knock a long term non married couples either.

To me single is I have no man, I have no commitment to anyone, I can date who I please. If I’m in a committed relationship (boyfriend/girlfriend) I do not expect this person to go out and see other women just because we aren’t married. If you can’t hold me down as a boyfriend what makes me believe you can hold me down as a husband. People be in bad relationships and think that marriage will change that. Just today I had a woman in court whose man beat her before marriage now after only a few months she’s getting an OP because he tried to choke her out.

Again I’m not knocking the institute of marriage. I love being married I just don’t think it’s fair to say if you’re not married you’re single unless you’re filling out paperwork.
