Oscar winner Charlize Theron (‘Monster’ 2004), left, wants former child star Tia Mowry banned from a spin cycle class, Dish Nation reports.
The drama started when the 36-year-old “Sister Sister” star approached Theron, 39, and tried to make small talk with her at a SoulCycle spin class in Los Angeles. Tia, who is mixed, probably made the assumption that she and Theron had something in common because they’re both actresses and Theron adopted a black kid.
But Theron, who was born in South Africa, had no clue who Mowry was. Segregation still exists in some parts of South Africa. But Mowry probably didn’t know that.
Mowry’s ego was crushed when Theron blew her off and continued her exercise. Embarrassed and humiliated, Tia ran to In Touch Weekly to complain about Theron’s rude attitude.
Mowry told In Touch that she approached Theron to say hello and was met with an eye roll and Theron saying, “Oh my god.”
When the tabloid story went viral all over the Internet, Theron met with SoulCycle management and demanded Mowry be banned from the upscale studio.
“Charlize came in so pissed off after Tia went to the tabloids about her, and she demanded we bar Tia from ever coming back,” a source told Dish Nation. “When the manager refused Charlize just got angrier and said she’d go to the top to make it happen.”
Theron raged that she couldn’t workout with Mowry stalking her like a groupie at the spin class.
But, according to Dish Nation, management refused to ban Mowry — which made Theron even angrier.
“This nobody who was famous for a minute 20 years ago can complain to the tabloids about me but I can’t expect you to protect me from hangers on in your studio?” Theron allegedly said, according to a SoulCycle employee.
Management told Theron it would handle the situation, but a decision has yet to be made, according to Dish Nation.
“This just feels like a vendetta because Tia spoke up,” said the insider. “Charlize used to be kind of quiet and chill when she came to spin, but it looks like dating Sean Penn isn’t doing her any favors.”
