Paul Aronson was a lonely octogenarian seeking company with a much younger woman. 17-year-old Shaina Foster spotted Aronson’s account on seekingarrangements.com, a website for wealthy older men looking for fun with younger gold diggers.
The 85-year-old retired lawyer must have seemed like easy prey to Shaina, who had a past criminal record.
On Oct. 1, Aronson invited Shaina out to dinner, and she asked her twin sister, Shalaina, to tag along.
The older man invited the sisters back to his luxury 5-story townhouse on East 38th Street in the Murray Hill section of New York.
The girls wasted no time zip tying the retiree to a coffee table. “Defendant Shania Foster zip-tied informant’s leg to a coffee table while defendant Shalaine Foster zip-tied informant’s hands behind his back,” according to court papers obtained by the NY Post.
“The informant fell onto the floor and could not get up and laid on the ground for approximately 20 hours.”
The criminal-minded twins went on a shopping spree with Aronson’s credit cards and about $500 of his cash.
Police caught up with the larcenous duo after Aronson’s friend discovered him weak and dehydrated on the floor.
Brian Kennedy, attorney for the twins, said his clients were the victims, not Aronson.
“He took them for dinner, stopped into a liquor store and took them home to get them drunk,” said Brian Kennedy. “Obviously this randy retiree’s intentions were not honorable.”
But the district attorney isn’t buying Kennedy’s excuses.
The twins are being held without bond, charged with kidnapping, burglary, robbery, assault and grand-larceny.
