Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson

Solange Knowles, Beyonce‘s little sister, is getting married to her much older boyfriend this weekend. Not one person I know has mentioned Solo’s upcoming nuptials. Is it because no one cares?

Certainly Solange did everything right. She dated Alan Ferguson, 51, for six years. That’s more than enough time to get to know the man she will wake up next to for the rest of her life. And it helps that he’s a much older man; he seems to be a mature man who’s done sowing his wild oats.

Solange has managed to keep her name out of the headlines after she went postal on her brother-in-law, Jay Z, 45, in a hotel elevator earlier this year.

Both Solange and her sister Beyonce had strained relationships with their father, Matthew Knowles, who pushed them to be entertainers so he could live vicariously through them.

As a result, both sisters ended up dating older men as substitutes for their father.

Solange was reportedly diagnosed with bipolar disorder and depression. Beyonce has not yet been diagnosed with any mental problems.

Hopefully Solange and Alan will live happily ever after. As long as she takes her meds.

From Hellobeautiful.com:

Solange Knowles is getting married this weekend in New Orleans, US media reports. Beyoncé’s younger sister will reportedly tie the knot with longtime love Alan Ferguson in a private family ceremony.

The groom is a 51-year-old video music director who has been a collaborator with the Knowles family for some time, as well as working with Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado and John Legend.

This weekend’s wedding party features three days of celebration in the southern city, starting with a movie night on Friday, followed by a rehearsal dinner the next day with the ceremony itself reserved for Sunday.
