President-elect Donald Trump flew to Indiana with Vice President-elect Mike Pence today to celebrate Carrier’s decision to keep an air conditioning plant open in America. The decision saves 1,000 American jobs from going to Mexico.
Carrier announced it would invest $16 million to keep its manufacturing plants open. The company also plans to close a plant in Mexico.
Trump and Pence are in Indiana on the first leg of their “Thank You Tour” through swing states that helped him win the presidential election.
Trump kept his campaign promise to heavily tax any American company that exports jobs to Mexico and then attempts to import their products back into the United States.
He also promised to “rebuild our inner cities because our African-American communities are absolutely in the worst shape that they’ve been in before. Ever. Ever. Ever.”
The leftwing mainstream media criticized Trump’s thank you tour as “stunts” and “not presidential”.
Many praised Trump who doesn’t take office until January 2017.
Plant workers say Trump has done more in 3 weeks as president-elect than other presidents have done in 8 years.
