Stephen Paddock

The Daily Mail UK has published a photo that appears to show Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock dead inside his suite at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino Hotel in Las Vegas, NV.

Paddock, 64, shot and killed 59 people and injured 527 others as they watched the final act perform at the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival on Oct. 1.

Paddock shot and killed himself after officers used explosives to blow the door.

Police say Paddock rented 2 suites with adjoining doors at the heavily surveilled resort. He arrived at the hotel on Sept. 28, and over several days, he used 10 suitcases to transport an arsenal of high-powered weapons and crates containing thousands of rounds of ammunition to his rooms.

Clark County, Nevada Sheriff Joe Lombardo said he was “very troubled” by the Daily Mail‘s photos which appear to be crime scene images.

Lombardo said there was an ongoing investigation into who leaked the photos to the London-based paper.

One of the photos shows a lifeless Paddock laying on his back near a window. His body surrounded by high-powered rifles and dozens of spent shells. Other photos shows about a dozen high-capacity magazines stacked next to a pillar.

On the other side of the pillar is a hammer that Paddock may have used to break out 2 thick tempered glass panes in the rooms.

Also in the room was a camera mounted on a tripod and another camera in the hallway to alert Paddock to arriving police.

The Daily Mail reports that the camera in the room recorded Paddock as he methodically committed mass murder.

The camera eliminated at least one conspiracy theory, that Paddock was just a patsy who was drugged and dumped in the room to take the fall for a phantom shooter.

Police say Paddock acted alone.
