This morning, your auntie stumbled upon this Instagram.com post by LeToya Luckett while perusing the Internet for content.
As you know, the Destiny’s Child backup singer recently tied the knot with her 2nd husband in as many years. And because she didn’t wait to make sure Tommicus Walker was the right one, the 37-year-old is now racked with worry.
She writes: “As I recently walked into this new chapter of my life as a Wife & a mother-in-Love of a beautiful little girl – the worry began to knock at my front door. Am I built for this?”.
This is what happens to immature people who rush into things without taking the time and patience to wait until they know they are equally yoked.
Children want what they want right now. They don’t have discernment or patience. They want immediate gratification because they cannot wait. When we mature as adults we leave behind childish things and immature behaviors.
That’s where good parents come in. Good parents set boundaries and limits on their child’s behavior. They teach their child to be less impulsive and to have patience. Good parents teach children the importance of delayed gratification to make them well-adjusted human beings.
LeToya clearly missed those lessons in life. She rushed headlong down the aisle with 2 men in less than a year because feelings. Her previous marriage — in 2016 — lasted 3 months.
She has good reason to worry.
Read my post on Dopamine: Lust for Love, so you don’t make the same mistake as LeToya.
Be blessed.
