Atlanta police arrested a man suspected in at least 20 car thefts and home burglaries. Armani Hickson, 20, was arrested around noon Tuesday at a Union City motel where he was hiding with his girlfriend, Alisha McDaniel.
At least three other men are wanted for a crime spree in the Atlanta area, police told Channel 2 Action News.
“When (Hickson) was apprehended, he also had a gun on him,” College Park police Sgt. Marcus Dennard told Channel 2 Action News Tuesday. “At the same time, he tried to elude officers and even get away.”
“I apologize for all the stuff that I did, and it won’t happen no more,” a remorseful Hickson told Action News. “I’m a changed man.”
Police recovered stolen keys, credit cards, guns and drugs in Hickson’s motel room, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Authorities also questioned McDaniel who is believed to be an accomplice in many of the crimes Hickson allegedly committed.
“She’s been seen with him in a lot of these crimes,” Dennard said. “They think they’re untouchable.”
An unidentified man was also in the motel room with Hickson and McDaniel at the time of Hickson’s arrest. Channel 2 reports it is unclear if the man was involved in the alleged crimes.
