Angela Simmons Monica Brown

“Thirst trapping” is the slang term for a social media trend that has caught on like wildfire among celebrities like Angela Simmons, left, and Monica Brown.

What lies beneath? … Monica Denise Brown…. I can only be me…. Still Me…

Thirst trapping means posting sexy photos on social media for attention. Some celebrities — like Beyonce — only post photos of themselves on their Instagram timelines. While other celebs, like Monica, squeeze in photos of her children and her celebrity friends in between images of herself modeling the latest pricey name brand clothing, bags and shoes.

Like most addictions, thirst trapping is not cheap.

I am told Monica has a glam squad of personal photographers, hair stylists and makeup artists on call to ensure she is beat to the gawds for her Instagram photo shoots — which often occurs daily.

Then there is the prohibitive cost for expensive brand name clothing, bags and shoes — all of which must never be worn twice in the same month.

Mo is known to fly her personal photographer to far flung places to make sure her followers never miss a shot of her even when she is out of the country.

All of this thirst trapping leaves Mo’s real fans wondering if she abandoned her recording career for Instagram?

Hopefully Mo will bless her fans with new music next year.
