Kenya Moore delivered her baby daughter prematurely by cesarean section on Sunday, Nov. 4, according to published reports. The baby was conceived by in vitro fertilization.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and her husband, restauranteur Marc Daly, named their baby girl Brooklyn Doris Daly.
Moore explained the inspiration behind her firstborn child’s name.
“Brooklyn because that’s where we met and fell in love, and Doris after my grandmother who passed away last year and who raised me,” Moore tells PEOPLE.
The reality TV star was rushed to the hospital last week following her diagnosis.

The baby was delivered early after Moore, 47, was diagnosed with preeclampsia, a potentially dangerous pregnancy complication that is characterized by high blood pressure, severe headaches and excess protein spilled into the urine.
Preeclampsia worsens when the body tries to reject the placenta as a foreign object. Treatment is to deliver the baby early to save the lives of both the mother and her baby.
Moore revealed her diagnosis in an Instagram post on Oct. 27. “This is NOT normal,” the former Miss USA captioned a photo of her swollen feet. She added that she gained 17 lbs. of water in one week.
