Comedian Gary Owen‘s wife, Kenya Duke responded to his appearance on The Wendy Williams Show that aired on Thursday, June 10.

Kenya filed for a divorce earlier this year, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple tied the knot in 2003 and share three grown children, sons Emilio and Austin, and a daughter, Kennedy.

During his appearance, Gary tried to promote his current film project, The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2, but Wendy was more interested in his failed marriage to Kenya.

Kenya took to Instagram to express her displeasure at her estranged husband.

“I was shocked you spent most of your time talking about me, the divorce, son and daughter, she wrote, adding that he didn’t “shut it down real quick” with Wendy and focus more on promoting his film.

“Why didn’t you?” she wrote, “because you want my attention and you knew someone would send it to me.”

Gary did try to promote his film, however, there is only one reason Wendy invited Gary on her show.

“My lawyer doesn’t want me to say anything,” Gary told Wendy.

“We got a lot of legal stuff we gotta go through. But I will say, there’s a big twist in my divorce that a lot of people don’t know about. It’s a doozy, but I can’t speak on it yet. But it’s big. It changed the whole dynamic of the divorce.”

As reported by theGrio.com, Kenya filed for divorce in March. She is requesting $44,000 per month in spousal support.

Gary reportedly changed his phone number and forced Kenya to go through his attorney to request enough money to keep her lights on.

Gary pushed back on accusations from Kenya that he was a deadbeat dad, saying, “our kids are adults.”
