At least 12 U.S. Marines, a Navy medic, and multiple children died in a suicide bombing at the Kabul airport in Afghanistan.

The death toll exceeds 75 killed in two suicide explosions at the Kabul airport’s North gate on Thursday. Over 100 people — Americans and Afghans — are wounded.

The death toll is expected to go much higher. The Marines were in the process of patting down the suicide bombers when the bombs went off.

Fox News reports there is no indication that Taliban were involved in the bombings.

12 Marines are dead and another 15 Marines are injured, according to multiple reports.

The explosions came as the United States, Britain and other countries evacuated thousands of Americans and Afghans who worked for the US out of the airport when the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.

Thousands of Americans in Kabul are desperate to leave Afghanistan but they are unable to get to the airport due to increased threats by the Taliban and ISIS.
