Tristan Thompson treated his favorite date, daughter True Thompson, to dinner at a Japanese restaurant on Thursday night. “My favorite type of date nights,” Tristan captioned an Instagram Story video, while his 3-year-old daughter chowed down on Japanese food.

The 30-year-old NBA forward signed a new contract with the Chicago Bulls after he was waived by the Pacers.

Last week, he was traded from the Sacramento Kings to Indiana after playing 30 games.

Tristan took to his Instagram to thank his Pacers teammates after spending a week with the team.

“thank you for everything! I really appreciate all the love and energy I received from everyone from the organization and the fan base. I always admired the @pacers franchise and have had some amazing playoff battles. Even though my time was short, I appreciated every minute of it.”

He continued:

“Even though I’m gone, my two brother [sic] in this picture will do some great things and make this organization and city proud. Love these two guys. Will always be watching them and cheering them on. Till next time Indy. Thank you.”

The news of the trade comes as Tristan’s third baby mama, Maralee Nichols, complained that she still hasn’t received a child support check for their infant son, and the NBA star has not met the boy who was born December 1.

Tristan is currently paying $120,000 a month for his three children. But his NBA career may soon come to a close. He reportedly told Nichols that he will retire in 2023. At that time, he will likely ask a judge to decrease his child support payments.
