NeNe Leakes filed a federal lawsuit against Andy Cohen and Bravo TV alleging they encouraged and tolerated a hostile and racist work environment.
NeNe, 54, filed the lawsuit in Atlanta’s federal court on Wednesday, according to ET Online.
Co-defendants include NBCUniversal, Bravo, True Entertainment and Truly Original, and “Real Housewives” executive producer Andy Cohen.
The lawsuit claims the co-defendants ignored NeNe’s repeated complaints about Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s racist behavior on the set of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
“From the day the series began filming, NeNe was the target of systemic racism from co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann, which was tolerated by Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen and other executives,” said NeNe’s Beverly Hills attorney David DeRubertis in a statement to ET.
DeRubertis added: “For years NBC, Bravo and TruTV have permitted – even encouraged – a corporate and workplace culture that tolerates cast members and talents’ racially-offensive and insensitive conduct, statements and actions without any meaningful consequence or remediation. NeNe hopes that coming forward with this lawsuit [will force] these networks … to ensure a workplace free from racially discriminatory or harassing behavior.”
NeNe is seeking millions of dollars for her pain and suffering.
