In May 2009 Madonna adopted daughter Chifundo “Mercy” James from Malawi. The 63-year-old pop icon returned to Malawi in February 2017 and adopted four-year-old twin sisters named Estere and Stella.

She also shares biological son Rocco Ritchie, 22, with ex-husband Guy Ritchie, and daughter Lourdes Leon, 25, with fitness trainer Carlos Leon.
