Kim Kardashian has parted ways with Balenciaga amid the ongoing uproar over the fashion brand’s BDSM-themed ad campaign featuring minor children.
According to Radar Online, Kardashian rejected a 2023 Balenciaga campaign offer in addition to dumping Balenciaga outfits that she planned to wear for upcoming events.
Insiders told TMZ Kardashian was “contacting other designers for new options” to wear to upcoming events.
The Skims mogul cut ties with the fashion house after the inappropriate ad campaign featured children holding plush teddy bears wearing S&M bondage gear.
Kardashian’s followers continue to flood her social media pages with angry comments.
Kardashian previously issued a statement saying she would re-evaluate her relationship with Balenciaga.
She stated she wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand “how this could have happened.”
“As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period.”
But Kardashian’s furious social media followers weren’t satisfied with her initial response. They demanded more action.
Balenciaga scrubbed the campaign images from their socials and filed a $25 million lawsuit against the production company and set designer for including “unapproved” items in the photo shoot.
However, an agent for the set designer said Balenciaga execs were on the set of the photo shoot and they were fully aware of the photo shoot’s theme.
“Everyone from Balenciaga was on the shoot and was present on every shot and worked on the edit of every image in post production,” said Gabriela Moussaieff, agent for the set director Nicholas Des Jardins. She added that the set designer was “being used as a scapegoat.”
