Kim Kardashian angered many of her Instagram followers by dressing her son Saint West as a wounded Palestinian child in Gaza.
7-year-old Saint is Kim’s son by her ex-husband Kanye West.
Kim, 43, waited until late Wednesday to post the insensitive photos of Saint West and a friend dressed up in bloodied and shredded soccer uniforms. A soccer ball protrudes from Saint’s chest — as if he was impaled by the ball during an explosion.
The boys are covered in fake blood and temporary tattoos and their clothing features Arabic writing – the native language of Palestinians.
Saint’s hair was cut by a barber prior to the controversial photo shoot.
Kim deceptively captioned the photos: “Saint as Zombie Neymar JR.”
Israeli’s Defense Force killed hundreds of children at a refugee camp in Gaza just days before Kim posted the photos on Wednesday night.
Fans questioned Kim’s timing amid the ongoing war in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas. Kim’s followers noted her history of attention-seeking behavior.
“I thought he was dressed up as injured/killed Palestinian kids,” one follower wrote.
“Kim, there’s people that are dying,” another person wrote.
A third person wrote:
“You cannot tell me this was not deliberate! Don’t mask the true intentions of your post by acting naive. YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE DOING BY POSTING THIS!”
A fifth user wrote: “Literally thought this was a picture of kids in Gaza. You are so tone deaf.”
But some users defended Saint’s costume. One person wrote:
“I don’t like that y’all trying to make it seem like Saint costume is in anyway imitating the kids in Gaza that’s a baby enjoying Halloween pls y’all stay focused and share importance news this is irrelevant.”
