Instagram comedienne Jess Hilarious was a no call, no show on what was supposed to be her first day as permanent host on “The Breakfast Club” on Monday, January 8.

Jess also didn’t show up for work on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Co-host Charlamagne expressed his frustration to co-host DJ Envy on Wednesday.

“I thought we was rotating guest co-hosts before we let God decide who was supposed to be in here? Now, in 2024, what happened?” he asked.

The show rotated guest co-hosts all last year after longtime co-host Angela Yee departed for her own show.

Radio listeners seemed to like YouTuber Jess Hilarious as Angela’s replacement.

Two weeks ago, Jess announced she would be the show’s permanent co-host starting in January.

According to Eurweb.com, Jess announced her new gig at an event in her hometown of Baltimore on Dec. 23.

Curiously, no one at Power 105.1 FM in New York confirmed her announcement.

The higher-ups may have been concerned that Jess was not a good fit with certain guests like rapper Sexxy Red, who accused Jess of “sneak dissing” her.

Maybe Power 105.1 execs are worried that Jess might be a little too rough around the edges for some guests.

Now comes word that Jess is pulling a Taraji P. Henson by protesting the pay she was supposed to receive as a permanent co-host.

According to rumormongers, Jess is reportedly upset that she’s not earning the same pay as her male co-hosts, Charlamagne and DJ Envy.

If you recall, Taraji complained about her unequal pay on the set of “The Color Purple.”

Producer Oprah Winfrey quickly resolved the pay dispute and she continues to lavish Taraji with praise.

Will Jess receive equal pay for the same work as her male co-hosts? Only time will tell.
