A teacher’s list of 32 banned slang words has gone viral. The anonymous teacher compiled a list of slang words that can’t be spoken in the classroom.

“The gibberish some of you choose to use is improper English,” the teacher wrote.

“There are many ways to articulate what you need to say without using slang. Please know that using slang in an academic setting can diminish your capability to become a successful writer. More often than not the way you speak is the way you will write.”

The teacher added: “This is an academic institution, and you will carry yourself as scholars in my classroom.”

The list includes such gang verbiage as “What’s up gang?”, “Gang gang”, On god”, “On my dead (mom, dad, aunt, cousin, any family/friend/associate),” “On bro” and “On hood”.

Other slang words on the list include “Bruh”, Standing on business”, “That’s cap”, “Bet”, and “What’s up twin?”

The list was posted on Twitter/X by a user who asked, “How y’all feel bout this?”

“I would of been kicked out that class,” replied one Twitter/X user.

Another person corrected the user: “I think you mean ‘would have’ or ‘would’ve’. Maybe school just wasn’t for you, ya know?”

A third person added: “You ‘would of’ failed the class too.”

Others praised the teacher for correcting the students’ broken English.
