Azealia Banks suggests that Beyonce Knowles Carter is desperate by releasing a country music album.
Beyonce teased new music in an ad that aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
After the ad aired, she released official visualizers for 2 songs off her new country music album, Act II. The album is set for release on March 29.
In a lengthy post in her Instagram Story, Azealia called Beyonce a grifter and a “pickmesha.”
The R&B singer dissected Bey’s new songs, titled “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em.”
Azealia said the mom-of-three is setting herself up to be ridiculed by country music fans.
“Ugh Bianca girl I love you down but them R&B runs over the leslie feist back beats is giving pickemsha,” Azealia wrote.
“Nothing country about it. You’re setting yourself up to be ridiculed again. There’s a theatrical element to country music!!! Them critics are not just going to accept an ugly blond wig and bullying from jay z!!!”
According to urbandictionary.com, a “pickmesha” is slang for a woman who is willing to do anything for male approval.
In this case, Beyonce is willing to do anything for a Grammy for Album of the Year, which has eluded her so far.
Azealia went on to compare Beyonce to singer K. Michelle who “truly understands the assignment.”
Azealia continued: “Beyonce, please stop the madness. The gay baiting, the overtly narcissistic attempts to lazily encroach into a genre *you think,* your popularity is gonna gain accolades for you in… You’re looking like food sis. You will gag when K Michelle tears it.”
But Beyonce’s fans on YouTube left ecstatic comments under the two video visualizers.
One person wrote: “As a longtime fan of both country music and Beyoncé, my soul is swelling with joy and peace hearing this song.”
Another fan wrote: “This song make me want to look outside the window thinking about life with tears rolling down my eyes…. BEYONCÉ 16 Carrigaes [sic] is a gorgeous song.”
