Jay-Z is catching heat for his educational campaign to hand out $300 million in scholarships to kids in failing public schools in Philadelphia.

According to the Associated Press, the “Run This Town” rapper and Roc Nation are helping to give out $300 million in scholarships through the PASS program (Pennsylvania Award for Student Success).

The PASS program takes children out of failing public schools and places them in private schools where they get a quality education.

Jay-Z and Beyonce’s three children attend private schools.

Public schools in America are ranked far behind third world countries scholastically.

But critics say the PASS program is led by future Trump cabinet member Jeffrey Yass, who is Republican.

“Just to be clear for those not in Pennsylvania, the legislation Jay-Z is supporting here is a Republican-led effort to gut public education, spearheaded by future Trump cabinet member Jeffrey Yass,” a user wrote on X/Twitter.

Another X/Twitter user added:

“Whether Jay-Z or the upper middle-class family on the block: if you have resources and don’t allocate them to local public schools, you are making a moral and political choice. Taking children out of public schools in favor of private IS PRECISELY what hurts the most vulnerable.”

Most failing public schools are in Democrat-controlled areas. The government allocates funding to public schools, but the money goes down a black hole never to be seen again.

Democrats believe the PASS program’s true mission is to undermine public school funding, which never reaches the children it’s intended for.

Meanwhile, America’s children can’t read, write in cursive, or do arithmetic.

At least Jay-Z is putting his money where his mouth is.
