Kim Kardashian is the first American citizen to take delivery of her own Tesla Optimus robot. On Monday, Kim shared cute videos to her Instagram Story and X (Twitter) that showed her bonding with her new $30,000 robot.
In one video, the SKIMS founder and Optimus Bot joined hands to make the heart symbol.
In a caption Kim wrote, “meet my new friend,” as they made the heart gesture with their hands and the bot showed off some dance moves. The robot even mimicked jogging after Kim asked it what it would like to do next.

Kim also shared a look at Tesla’s new Cyber Cab – a sedan version of their Cyber Truck that can drive itself.
The Optimus Bot made its debut during Tesla’s “We, Robot” event in October, where the robots interacted with attendees such as rapper 2 Chainz, who placed an order for his own robot on the spot. It was later revealed that the robot was remotely controlled and his voice was provided by a Tesla employee using a headset and microphone.
X users compared Optimus Bot to the robots seen in the 2004 Sci-Fi thriller I, Robot starring Will Smith. The resemblance sparked some controversy online. The film’s director, Alex Proyas, called out Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, and his design choices on X. “Hey Elon [Musk], can I have my designs back please?” he wrote, referencing the similarities between the Optimus Bot and his movie’s CGI robots.
