Remember the 6-year-old boy with a behavioral disorder who required 5 men to restrain him while getting his hair cut? Many of you suggested the boy needed a beating to correct his behavior.
Well that’s what happened to a 7-year-old Baltimore boy who acted out in class.
Timothy Randall Korr, a 25-year-old teacher’s assistant was charged with felony first- and second-degree child abuse for assaulting a 2nd grader.
Travon Grayson, 7, was treated at a hospital for a fractured jaw after Korr assaulted him while taking him to the principal’s office for disciplinary reasons.
Surveillance video shows Korr carrying the boy over his shoulder because the boy refused to walk. At some point along the way, Korr decided to discipline the boy himself.
The video shows Korr putting Travon down and then slamming him against a wall and knocking out several of his teeth.
“The video does show him carrying the child and slamming him up against the wall, and it’s very difficult to watch. We cringed a number of times as we watched the video,” said Baltimore police media relations Chief T.J. Smith.
“It’s never appropriate to inflict this type of harm on a child,” Smith said.
Travon’s case is typical of the trauma and physical abuse suffered by children with behavioral problems.
