Donald Trump Peter Strzok

FBI agent Peter Strzok was fired over inappropriate text messages about then-candidate Donald Trump. The former FBI senior counterintelligence agent was one of the lead investigators on Robert Mueller’s team investigating Russia collusion after Trump won the 2016 election.

Mueller removed Strzok from his team as it became apparent that Strzok and other federal agents, including former F.B.I. lawyer, Lisa Page, demonstrated a hatred for Trump that cast a shadow over their ability to remain impartial and unbiased in their work.

Strzok was also accused of sending highly sensitive national security information to his own personal email account, according to The NY Times.

President Trump eagerly announced Strzok’s departure on Twitter.com Monday.

“Agent Peter Strzok was just fired from the FBI – finally. The list of bad players in the FBI & DOJ gets longer & longer. Based on the fact that Strzok was in charge of the Witch Hunt, will it be dropped? It is a total Hoax. No Collusion, No Obstruction – I just fight back!

“Just fired Agent Strzok, formerly of the FBI, was in charge of the Crooked Hillary Clinton sham investigation. It was a total fraud on the American public and should be properly redone!”
