TI and Tiny

T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle premieres tonight on VH1. The following are my observations from the new show which features estranged couple T.I. and Tameka Harris and their friends, Toya Wright, Monica Brown, and LeToya Luckett.

Monica and Shannon are not living together

This is my observation based on Monica and the children’s body language when she mentions Shannon. There is one scene where the children sit at the dining room table picking at their food. Monica mentions Shannon to her youngest daughter, Laiyah, and the look on Laiyah’s face is like that look a child gives you when she hasn’t seen her daddy in a minute.

Shannon is not included on the show’s credits as a cast member. But it could be because he’s not getting paid to appear in the series. He does appear at the beginning shooting baskets.
 
T.I. and Tiny are just going through the motions

There is one prolonged scene that shows T.I. and Tameka in the kitchen of her Eagles Landing mansion in Stockbridge, GA. Tiny struggles to pretend she cares about T.I. And he struggles to keep a straight face while repeating his lines. It’s all so fake and dry. Does Tameka really need the money to keep up all these pretenses when she and T.I. are not even together? By the way, VH1 shows the scene when T.I. delivered the used Mercedes for her 42nd birthday earlier this year. The scene was taped at her apartment in the South Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, where she and daughter Heiress still live.
 
LeToya Luckett is going to lose her husband if she doesn’t show him some respect

LeToya Luckett shows her immature side in the series premiere. The former Destiny’s Child singer shows exactly why she was kicked out of the group. Her incessant whining about her emotions are enough to drive any man crazy. It’s a wonder that her husband, Tommicus, puts up with her.
