A Texas sheriff’s deputy who appeared as a bailiff on a courtroom television series is charged with fatally shooting his wife in their home.
Deputy Renard Spivey, of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, is charged with fatally shooting his wife during a heated argument over the weekend.
Spivey called police to his home at 3 a.m. on Sunday to report an accidental shooting.
Police found Patricia Spivey dead inside the home, while Renard Spivey had a leg wound. Police say Spivey was arrested and charged with murder.
Spivey appeared as a bailiff on the TV show “Justice for All with Judge Christine Perez” from 2012 to 2016.
Court documents obtained by the NY Post indicate Spivey may have a history of mental illness.
Spivey is currently hospitalized for treatment of his leg wound. He will undergo a mental health evaluation.
