George Floyd‘s daughter, Gianna, is suing Ye West, formerly Kanye West, for $250 million for statements he made in a “Drink Champs” interview.

Roxie Washington, Gianna’s mother, announced Tuesday she is suing the hitmaker on behalf of the minor child.

Floyd died on May 25, 2020 during an arrest in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ye claimed he was killed by a fentanyl overdose, not a cop kneeling on his neck.

According to TMZ, Washington hired a team of lawyers to sue Ye, his business partners and his associates for harassment, misappropriation, defamation, and infliction of emotional distress.

The Drink Champs interview was quickly removed from YouTube and Sean Combs‘ REVOLT.tv, which produces the web series.

TMZ obtained a copy of the cease & desist that was sent to Ye.

The letter reads, in part, “Mr. Floyd’s cause of death is well-settled through evidence presented in courts of law during the criminal and civil trials that were the result of his untimely and horrific death. Nevertheless, you have maliciously made statements that are inaccurate and unfounded, causing damage to Mr. Floyd’s estate and his family.”

Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd, told TMZ Monday that the family planned to file legal action against Ye.
