Tamar Braxton is officially off the market. Her boyfriend, Jeremy “JR” Robinson popped the question during the “Queen’s Court” finale which dropped March 16 on the PeacockTV app.
Tamar was taken off the market by JR four years after she divorced music exec Vincent Herbert. Tamar met attorney JR last year, when her abusive relationship ended with African businessman David Adefeso.
During the finale JR dropped to one knee and said, “I don’t wanna be your friend. I wanna be your husband. Tamar… I’m here forever because I don’t see my life without you. And I love you, Tamar. Tamar, will you marry me?”
After Tamar said yes, JR responded, “You’re making me the happiest man in the whole world.” Tamar admitted that she’s “crazy” about JR. “I can’t believe I found what I was looking for,” Tamar admitted.
JR, who fathered children with 2 women in 2019, told hosts Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete that he is fully committed to Tamar, no matter what.
“I feel that the two of us together, we can overcome all of the outside pressure and all of the outside noise. You know, look, she’s dealt with some things in her past. I’ve dealt with some things in my past. And the beauty of merging that together and being solid and not listening to the outside world is going to be an amazing journey,” he said.
When asked about his bed-hopping past, JR said, “That was a very difficult time. It was a dark time. While I was usually dating, I dated multiple women. And I ended up with two beautiful children. I’ve been as transparent as I can be.”
JR said he has “decent and cordial” relationships with his 2 baby mamas, and Tamar said she looks forward to blending families.
Tamar is best known for appearing on her family reality TV series The Braxton Family Values. She is also a member of the 1990s R&B group The Braxtons. Tamar is the sister of 7X Grammy winner Toni Braxton.
While guest hosting The Breakfast Club last week, Tamar said couples should wait a year before getting married.
However, a caller said one year is too soon to get married. He said that’s too much pressure on men. “A guy needs at least 2, 3, 4 years to decide if they want to spend the rest of their life with somebody,” he said.

The caller is right. Women often race down the aisle when they’re not ready for a lifetime of commitment. Then the chemistry wears off and they find themselves single with 1 or more children.
The Black divorce rate is over 60%, and more than 80% of households in the Black community are headed by single women.
