A Louisiana woman was arrested on Monday and charged with Medicaid fraud. Candace Taylor, 35, from Slidell, is accused of raking in millions of dollars in Medicaid funds while claiming she earned $2,000 a month.
Federal agents began investigating Taylor after a complaint from the Louisiana Department of Health when she applied for Medicaid benefits using several aliases.
The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation said Taylor used fake home health companies to bill Medicaid for $9.5 million over four years. Meanwhile, she filed for Medicaid benefits under her legal name claiming $2,000 a month in income.
Taylor purchased a Lamborghini, other luxury vehicles, and plastic surgery while on government assistance over a four year period.
Two months after purchasing the Lamborghini, she reapplied for Medicaid benefits.
The first time Taylor applied for Medicaid, she was denied. The second time she applied she used inconsistent information on the application.

Investigators checked Taylor’s bank accounts and her social media pages. They saw photos that showed Taylor posing with a Lamborghini she said she paid cash for.
Taylor’s fraudulent activities included paying over $45,000 in car payments to Audi Finance, a $100,000 bank wire for property purchase, cosmetic surgery, high-end jewelry, and purchasing a 2022 Lamborghini Urus.
Taylor attempted to renew her Medicaid benefits in 2024 while concealing her business ownership.

Taylor was arrested on July 28, 2025, and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of government benefits fraud.
Investigators cited social media posts showcasing her luxury lifestyle as part of the evidence against her.
One post shows Taylor posing in front of her new Lamborghini which she purchased as a birthday gift for herself. She captioned the post: “Turned my birthday into a lifestyle. The difference between me and you: the price of my toys. I took my Lamborghini for a walk, but it kept attracting paparazzi.”
Federal prosecutors seized Taylor’s bank accounts, cars, jewelry, and other luxury items.
