The Dallas Wings selected UConn star Azzi Fudd with the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft on Monday. WNBA fans expressed disappointment over her selection.

Fans claim Azzi was only chosen by Dallas because she’s Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend. Paige was Dallas’ No. 1 pick last year.

Paige and Azzi dated in high school and won an NCAA National championship together at UConn.

Fans noted that Olivia (pictured with Commissioner Cathy Engelbert) was the best player in last night’s draft. But Dallas passed on Olivia because Azzi and Paige are a couple.

One person wrote on X.com: “Drafting a player cause your franchise player is dating them is crazy.”

Another person wrote: “Absolutely insane. Kind of reminds me of drafting a player because your franchise player is their father.”

A third person commented: “All fun and games till they break up.”

Men on a manosphere board wondered what would happen if NBA teams drafted the boyfriends of NBA players.

One manosphere member wrote: “Imagine drafting a player because they are dating another on your roster. imagine this in the NBA.”

Another manosphere member wrote: “[Azzi] is not the best player in this draft
wtf is this sh*t? This league so unserious.”

He continued: “These mothafu#kas really just drafted the 8th or 9th best player in the draft number one because she’s dating their star player.”

The WNBA has cultivated the league’s LGBTQ+ environment by specifically drafting lesbians for 2 decades. There are four WNBA teams with lesbian couples.

2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark was harassed and bullied because she is heterosexual.

WNBA players refused to acknowledge that Caitlin would bring them riches and fame.

Thanks to Caitin’s influence, the league recently approved a landmark Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that made WNBA veterans instant millionaires.

Maximum WNBA contracts now start at $1.4 million in 2026.

Newly minted WNBA millionaires include former Atlanta Dream star Brittney Griner, who signed with the Connecticut Sun for $1 million. Jackie Young signed a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Aces for $1.19 million.

Nneka Ogwumike agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Sparks for $950,000. And Kelsey Plum signed with the Sparks for $999,999.

Azzi Fudd, the No. 1 draft pick, is set to earn $500,000 in her rookie season. Caitlin earned just $78,000 in her rookie season in 2024.

The new CBA agreement proves that the WNBA lied about the league’s revenue every year.
