A Texas parole officer was fired over comments she made on social media about incarcerated teen Karmelo Anthony. Donna Robinson was terminated over inflammatory Facebook comments she made following Anthony’s sentencing in Collin County, Texas.
Anthony, 19, is currently serving 35 years in a state prison for the 2025 murder of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf in Frisco, Texas.
In a viral Facebook post, Robinson assured Anthony’s supporters that he would be safe in prison. “I am a parole supervisor at TXDCJ. Karmelo will be OK. He, I can almost assure you, will be protected on the inside,” she wrote.
Robinson added she was “glad we didn’t have to bury another Black child,” and “Let them start burying some of theirs for a change.” She concluded her post: “FK ’em I said what I said.”

Robinson’s comments drew widespread outrage. The TDCJ administration terminated Robinson on Friday, and released an official statement clarifying the agency’s position. A department spokeswoman said impartiality and non-bias are requirements for TDCJ employees, according to Audacy.com KRLD News.
“These statements are incompatible with TDCJ policy and values,” the spokeswoman added. “They demonstrate bias and a lack of the impartiality essential to the fair administration of justice in Texas. Discriminatory or inflammatory conduct that erodes public confidence in the criminal justice system will not be tolerated.”
Under Texas law, Anthony must serve half of his sentence (17.5 years) before he can be eligible for parole. His attorney filed an appeal and an indigent form asking the court to provide an appellate attorney because Anthony can’t afford one.
Motivational speaker Charleston White and social media influencer Kai Cenat donated over $400,000 toward Anthony’s appeal.
