Samuels spent his money lavishly on designer clothes, shoes, cologne, and Rolexes. He owned a fleet of cars including a Lamborghini, Mercedes AMG G 63, and a Tesla Model X.

Samuels worked a 9-5 job before promoting himself as a lifestyle consultant and coach. He reportedly charged his clients a fee of $1,400 an hour.

Samuels reviewed cologne on his YouTube channel in the early days before going viral during the pandemic in 2020.

The self-proclaimed "image consultant" and relationship guru made his fortune by disparaging Black women and spewing misogynistic stereotypes about their weight and looks.

He went easier on his male followers by encouraging them to achieve the lofty goal of high value men.

Samuels was a hit with insecure men who modeled their own personalities after his.

Days before he died, The Root published a scathing article titled "When Will Kevin Samuels Finally Be Canceled?."

In the article, writer Candace McDuffie asked, "Why does Kevin Samuels continue to have a platform when it's built on the backs of women he hates?"

She noted that Samuels called women who are 35 and unmarried "leftovers".

On Thursday, McDuffie changed the title of her article to "Controversy Follows Kevin Samuels."

Samuels was twice divorced and leaves behind an adult daughter. He was born in Atlanta, and will be buried during a private service in Oklahoma City.
