Mary J. Blige is single and childless by choice. The 51-year-old singer & actress recently revealed why she decided not to bring any children into the world.

Blige said she thought about it, but seeing mothers struggling with their own kids made her appreciate the single life more.

"I'm not there yet, so I'm good! Listen, I have nieces and nephews forever and I'm always watching how people are scrambling for babysitters," she said in an interview with E!'s Daily Pop. "I don't want to go through that," she laughed.

Blige accepted her role as stepmother while married to ex-husband Kendu Isaacs.

The "No More Drama" singer said the title for her hit R&B song "Good Morning Gorgeous" came from "some real heavy, trying to dig myself out of some terrible, horrible place."

Recent studies have shown there are only three Black men for every 5 Black women in America -- and that number is dwindling.

Mass incarceration, HIV/AIDS, and gun violence are partly to blame for the shrinking pool of available Black men in America.

America has recently seen the largest shift in Black men coming out as ghey or bisexual.

By coming out as ghey, Black men feel like they belong to a growing movement that offers career advancement and financial rewards.

Coming out as bisexual was probably a business decision for retired rapper-turned-podcaster Joe Budden who, at age 41, has seen the last of his rap career.

Budden's big reveal on Thursday generated more headlines than his rap records.

Lil Nas X, a mediocre rapper at best, is still relevant - but only because he came out as LGBT+.

When all else fails, blame single Black women for the dwindling supply of available Black men.

In an article titled "Ways Single Mothers Destroy their sons," the author explained that "Speaking negatively about their father" is the single most damaging thing a mom can do to her son.

At least 20% of Black men are in long-term relationships with white or non-Black women.

ESSENCE magazine published 7 reasons why Black men stopped approaching Black women.

"We can't win! Black women are wonderful (we know this) but somehow many of our clients often believe that dating a sister is no longer 'in style' for Black men," a professional matchmaker told ESSENCE.

A loyal reader emailed to say Keri Hilson responded to my post, titled "Singer Keri Hilson hopes God will send her a Black man."

The singer/songwriter recently took to to ask God to send her a good man.

"I want who God wants for me, but am I wrong for hoping my soulmate is a black man? He don't even have to be American, I've dated 3 non-American black men. But I want to love a black man. Or a man of color... And if he's neither, he'd have to have a deep understanding & genuine support of my pro-blackness... Anybody feel me?"

However, some of Keri's followers misunderstood her tweets. They assumed she was tired of dating white men and wanted God to send her one good Black man.

People make mistakes. We're all human. Even bloggers get it wrong occasionally.

Rather than email me, Keri took to Twitter to address your auntie's error:

"Dear Sandra Rose, I have never dated a white man, never even kissed one...nor have I dated Soulja Boy, Trey, or Lil Wayne. I’m actually surprised you’re still around from all these years of incorrect info. You are one funny lady."

My loyal reader thought Keri was coming for me, but I assured her that Keri was not that crazy. She wouldn't dare come for me -- not with all the dirt I have on her.

Keri is one of the washed up celebs who nervously check the blog regularly, hoping I won't spill their tea.

The "High Note" star isn't currently dating anyone after a long history of failed relationships with emotionally unavailable men.

Tracee spent much of the Covid-19 lockdown by herself - but she insists she's more than happy with her single relationship status.

"I am happily single, though that doesn't mean I am not open to and don't want a relationship," she tells Shape magazine. "But in my wonderful and robust experience of being single, I have learned to have a productive relationship with loneliness and an intensely juicy relationship with my joyful solitude — I really enjoy my company."

The actress, who was briefly linked to "Black-ish" creator Kenya Barris last year, explained, "One of the things that's been lovely to discover is how I care for myself and how I actively love myself. And I believe that love is an action: You get back what you put in."

The 47-year-old added: "I used to spend so much time trying to be perfect, to get it perfect. But that’s not realistic. Bad feelings come up."

Tracee was linked to Akon's brother Bu Thiam in 2012. Bu is now linked to industry boomerang Lori Harvey.

Emma Watson revealed she sat in therapy for hours because she felt guilty about early stardom. Watson, who gained overnight fame playing Hermione Granger in Harry Potter films, was only 9 years old when fame came calling.

"I was nine years old and I was literally picked out of a line-up in my school gym that wasn't even an acting school and got the first part I ever auditioned for, and it's so bizarre and otherworldly what happened to me," said the 29-year-old Aries in a sit-down interview with British Vogue magazine..

The British-transplant wasn't prepared for early stardom and the fanatical star-struck fandom that comes with it.

"I've struggled a lot with the guilt around that. I'm like, I should be enjoying this a lot more, I should be more excited and I'm actually really struggling," she added. / BACKGRID

Watson trended on on Tuesday after coining the term "self-partnered" to describe happily single women like herself.

She is voluntarily single after dating men including fellow actors Chord Overstreet and a brief fling with Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton.

"I never believed the whole 'I'm happy single' spiel," she told the magazine. "I was like, 'This is totally spiel.' It took me a long time, but I'm very happy (being single). I call it being self-partnered."

She said she feels anxiety and pressure to get married and have a baby by the time she turns 30 on April 15, 2020.

The term "self-partnered" caught fire on and sparked debate between single ladies and married people who say being single is overrated.

Emma Watson hates being referred to as a "single" lady, so she has coined a new term to describe people like herself who are happy being single. She prefers to call herself "self-partnered".

The 29-year-old Harry Potter actress has dated fellow actors including Chord Overstreet and a brief fling with Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton.

However, according to, in a new interview with Britain's Vogue magazine, Emma revealed she's not currently seeing anyone, and is "very happy" with her single status right now.

"I never believed the whole 'I'm happy single' spiel," she told the magazine. "I was like, 'This is totally spiel.' It took me a long time, but I'm very happy (being single). I call it being self-partnered."

Despite her assurance that she's happy being single, Emma added that her single status does give her anxiety in certain aspects of her life. She feels pressure to get married and have a baby by the time she turns 30 on April 15, 2020.

"Cut to 29, and I'm like, 'Oh my God, I feel so stressed and anxious," said Watson. "And I realize it's because there is suddenly this bloody influx of subliminal messaging around. If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you're not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you're still figuring things out… There's just this incredible amount of anxiety."

In America, more people are choosing to remain single. Over 36 million Americans are single and that number is growing daily. Corporations are taking notice and catering to single people.

"Things like marriage, having children -- where previously a lot of weight was put upon that -- they're putting those things off a little more so they're staying single longer," said Melissa Meredith, a marketing specialist for Creative Collabs.
