Rapper Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, left, and singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of TLC performed onstage during Fox’s “American Idol 2011” finale show held at Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles yesterday. T-Boz’s thick appearance prompted a slew of pregnancy rumors on social networking sites Twitter and Facebook last night. T-Boz, 41, suffers from Sickle Cell Anemia and has been in and out of hospitals. In 2009, T-Boz talked about her battle with a brain tumor. T-Boz has a 10-year-old daughter, Chase Anela Rolison, who was fathered by rapper Mack 10.

now that i’m looking at her, i’m thinking the weight is just a result of her meds. when the disease gets really bad, they sometimes have to give them chemo. but to have that and a brain tumor AND still look that good & want to perform is amazing.

Everytime I eat, I look re-pregnant too. Especially after I eat like ice cream amd my lack toast and taller ants kicks in and don’t let my aunt be coming to town. I look 4 moths pregnant pretty much every month round the 3rd…. but I’m back fine 4 days later…

T-Boz has been through a lot. Sickle cell patients have to take a lot of medication especially when they are in crisis. Steriods in medicines can lead to weight gain too.

Sickle cell is absolutely no joke. My brother died of it 4 years ago. He would lose and gain drastic amounts of weight at the drop of a hat. So I totally understand T-Boz’s look…They just need a new stylist imo…When is Chili gonna do something diffrent with her hair dang…Change it up some way!!! Has she even worn in straight before?

My oldest daughter has a milder form of Sickle Anemia called Hemoglobin SC Disease. Both her father and I carry the trait. There was a 50/50 chance that she would get it and she did; thank God it’s not as bad as some of the other kids she had befriended at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorder Center over the years. I’m sure T-Boz probably has Hemoglobin SS Disease which is the most common type of Sickle Cell Anemia. It’s no joke. She looks to be doing well. She’s had a rough time with the disease and I wish her nothing but success.

Now that Chilli needs a make over. That baby hair gets on my last nerves.

Said he drove by and saw my car but thought we had just parked it there…cause when he came back through…it was STILL there.

This is so true. I got tested AFTER I had my daughter. I was only 16 when I had her. Then turned around and had another child w/the same guy at 18. Young and stupid I was…but my other dauther doesn’t have it or the trait, thank God. When I married at 28 and we decided to have a child I was adament about my hubby being tested. I just didn’t want to take any chances.

I’ve watched my daughter live for 20 years in pain. I am grateful she wasn’t sick all the time like a little girl she befriended who died when she was 14.

I have a friend who had to take steroids for her asthma… she was like a size 6 at first…she blew up to like a size 18…then she lost all that weight….she has stretch marks all over her entire body….when I first met her I thought she was burn victim…that’s how bad they are…..

I hope that she grows out of it, I hear of stories where the person experiences nothing at all until they’re an adult and stories about dealing with it in childhood and everything gets better as an adult. God Bless her.

Thank you @yallcrazy. I think her being in pain has caused her to become depressed. I just keep giving her love and support. I pray constantly for her. I think it’s gotten worse as she’s gotten older though.

My nephew has sickle cell anemia and his hands and feet swell out of nowhere. There’ve been times that my sister has had to pick him up and carry him around because he couldn’t walk. He’s 13 now, but the doctors said that he wasn’t gone to live past 5 years old. It’s really a hard thing to deal with because you have no control over it.

Yallcrazy, in college my daughter was a pot head (lord she get it from her Mama–back in the day) she told me that is how she coped w/pain. She’s back home w/us now so she can’t do it because I don’t allow it in my house. But I know whengoes out or over to her boyfriend’s house, she get her smoke on.

@ Kat That’s good to hear. He was really really sick when he was a baby. He actually looks like he’s 7 but he’s a teenager. He loses more weight than he gains. He does well for the most part.

my nephew has SC and our cousin has SS. To watch a child grow up with sickle cell disease is heartwrenching and inspiring at the same time. they are some of the strongest people i know and suffer through their disease with a grace i’ve never seen before. it’s something to see and i’m inspired by their strength and perseverance to defy the odds of what doctors say they can and can’t do because of their disease.

my husband and i both have the trait. he didn’t find out he had the trait until we took our blood tests right before getting married. back in the day parents would get their kids tested and the results would be wrong. i was told by my mother that i didn’t have the trait but my older sister did; which turned out to be wrong…both me and my sister have the trait. my husband was told by his parents that he didn’t have the trait, as well. it’s not like you go for your annual physical and ask to be tested for sickle cell trait if no one in your family has the disease.

there are procedures doctors can do if you go through in vitro fertilization to only implant the embryos that only have the trait and not the actual disease. it’s called ICSI (don’t remember what it stands for but that’s the acronym). having sickle cell disease is not the death sentence it used to be due to all the advances in medical technology as well as holistic and alternative medicine treatments that are more in the forefront these days.

@Flsun, Perhaps you can allow her to do it in a controlled environment Maybe you could join her I say that because my friend used to describe the pain as something like “hammers beating on the veins in my body” or something along those lines and especially if all the pain was just in one area-like legs only.

I’m glad chilli letting that schitty brown hair color go after almost ten years. she needs stylist so bad, but I get the impression she’s the type you can’t tell nothing, so baby hair it is. i’m now convinced people give them standing ovations now in hopes they’ll just hurry and get off the stage. Their stage shows are so boring, no hype at all. Maybe its the audiences they continue to try and play to, or maybe the “L” was the mastermind behind all their creativity after all.
