Inside Monica and Shannon’s Fairy Tale Wedding
The Insider and one other national media (I forget which) had the exclusive on singer Monica’s wedding to NBA star Shannon Brown over the weekend! As you know, the happy couple renewed their vows in front of 300 family and friends in Los Angeles on Saturday (July 9). The couple previously said “I do” in a private ceremony at their home in November 2010.
When asked what Shannon whispered in her ear at the alter, Monica said, “he asked me was I his forever, and I answered.. a lot of good stuff.” She added: “I’m glad you couldn’t hear.”
Among the invited guests were Shannon’s best man, and former teammate, Kobe Bryant, and Kobe’s wife Vanessa, who arrived early and helped out doing things as Mo’s bridesmaid, since Khloe Kardashian dropped out at the last minute due to a death in the family.
Monica’s good friend La La Vazquez told The Insider’s Kevin Frazier, “Oh my God! Love was in the air. It was beautiful! I LOVE weddings!”

I believe Vanessa is a scorned. She looked at Monica and remembered that feeling and then her marriage was tainted. Nothing that can’t be repaired, but for people who haven’t dealt with infidelity they can’t possibly know what that spouse deals with knowing that their spouse stepped out on them. @Tatted I bet that copper colored hair was pretty. Hard to tell in the pic but my daughter and I both have sandy reddish/brown hair. Like my color but it tends to look dry. Esp on my daughter because she has naturally curly hair. Tends to look thirsty

I hate this too!!!! I only had 6 bridesmaids and all my other friends, associates, and childhood buddies had to get over it! A wedding party that large takes away from the main focus which should be the bride and groom…

I’ve seen people on blogs make fun of ghetto weddings, but the most important thing is that the ghetto bride and groom will remember that day fondly forever. Word LIFE I went to a wedding last summa that had TWENTY THREE bridesmaids. Add equal numma of groomsmen, a best man, a matron of honor, some flower girls (4), bell ringers (4), ring bearers (there is only supposed to be ONE I thought…but dayum it they had TWO) and my sister (her friend was the bride) looked at that program…that the wedding party took up TWO PAGES alone….and was like “I need an Excel spreadsheet to keep up with this fukkery”…they all could not even FIT at the front. They all down the back aisle and whatnot.

Thanks Fayla and Tatted. That’s my beauty queen. She will be 14 soon but still not giving me too many problems. And although at one point she let the curly hair and green eyes get to her head she is very grounded and mature. Starting to talk to boys but I haven’t had to threaten anyone yet

Tatted my sisters are all doing well and are all good mother’s so that was a lil bit of a silver lining. Just made life a lil harder. I don’t want that for my daughter at all. My mom has 4 girls, 10 grandkids and 5 greatgrands. All the grandkids of age graduated except for 1 right now and the latest graduate will be leaving for college-our first college bound!!! Also have one grand in the Navy and one married to a serviceman. we succeeded in breaking atleast 2 cycles. teen pregnancy and dropping out
