LeToya Luckett

This morning, your auntie stumbled upon this Instagram.com post by LeToya Luckett while perusing the Internet for content.

As you know, the Destiny's Child backup singer recently tied the knot with her 2nd husband in as many years. And because she didn't wait to make sure Tommicus Walker was the right one, the 37-year-old is now racked with worry.

She writes: "As I recently walked into this new chapter of my life as a Wife & a mother-in-Love of a beautiful little girl - the worry began to knock at my front door. Am I built for this?".

This is what happens to immature people who rush into things without taking the time and patience to wait until they know they are equally yoked.

Children want what they want right now. They don't have discernment or patience. They want immediate gratification because they cannot wait. When we mature as adults we leave behind childish things and immature behaviors.

That's where good parents come in. Good parents set boundaries and limits on their child's behavior. They teach their child to be less impulsive and to have patience. Good parents teach children the importance of delayed gratification to make them well-adjusted human beings.

LeToya clearly missed those lessons in life. She rushed headlong down the aisle with 2 men in less than a year because feelings. Her previous marriage -- in 2016 -- lasted 3 months.

She has good reason to worry.

Read my post on Dopamine: Lust for Love, so you don't make the same mistake as LeToya.

Be blessed.

LeToya Luckett

If I can be honest, As much as I pray & claim to be a “ leave it in Gods hands” believer, I struggle with worry. Am I the only one? ????? I pray & then worry. Still waiting for that to make sense? anyhoo! Today, God woke me up around 5 am and put one word on my heart...”TRUST!” He reminded me that he has me EXACTLY where he wants me. I’ve often struggled with the “what’s next” instead of living in the NOW. I’m sure I’ve missed so many beautiful moments looking past the beauty of NOW. Worrying about tomorrow instead of being thankful for today & the fact that God saw fit to allow me to even see another day. I think this comes from past hurts & feeling like I missed out or wanting to do more or feeling like I should be further in life. DON’T BELIEVE THAT LIE MY FRIENDS!!! You’re GOOD! God has you right in the palm of his hands. No matter the storm, no matter what it looks like RIGHT NOW , find the light in your load. When I say “load”, if it feels heavy know that you can go to God in prayer and hand it right on over to him! Kick the worry! That’s the whole point of prayer. I feel so grateful to Jesus for the sacrifice that he made for my sins!! He made it so that I could come boldly & confidently before God in prayer & have a one on one relationship with him. I’m beyond grateful! As I recently walked into this new chapter of my life as a Wife & a mother-in-Love of a beautiful little girl- the worry began to knock at my front door. Am I built for this? I’ve never been a mommy. My cooking skills are so ,so. My fresh smoothie game is aaiiiight. So I gotta share...everything? Will he still love me if? These are all the thoughts that started to flood my mind ? overwhelmed with worry instead of seeing the blessing that God had actually givin me far & beyond what I’ve prayed for all of these years. Welp! Today I choose to STOP THE WORRY & put on my new crown as a WARRIOR!! A prayer WARRIOR for my family! A WARRIOR FOR GOD! I can literally feel a new strength come over me as I write this! My mom always said , “ worry is sin” now I get it. God forgive me. Lead me! I bind up worry & fear & I will TRUST YOU with my whole heart. -Mrs. Walker ?? worrier ?? WARRIOR ?

Damn Sandra, you are the queen of shade.

  • Elevated Soul

I like LeToya but I feel she's the type that forget there is a "marriage after the wedding"....Also, people need to stop putting their every waking thought on social media.

  • 2telldatruth

I can definitely relate to her post and I am happily single by choice. I don't think this is necessarily a post about her man but rather her struggle with worrying about what's to come in EVERY aspect of her life. She's just giving some good advice about letting go and let God have your worry.

  • E-VannaRootsAllEvil

I struggle with worry. Trying to stop

    Gd mawning

  • jeniefrumdabloc™

you know what boggles me with people praying and then worrying..... Do you not listen for a response or do you just fall back to worry ... More than likely distracting yourself with worry completely missing the answer you prayed for.... Seek (you shall find) just like you go to a quiet place to pray .... how da hell do you expect to hear anything from your guardians ancestors let alone God.... when you fall back to worrying .... You block prayers from being answered .... And your guardians always want to answer prayers always .... They be right there .... But it is the sender that don't pay attention .... Don't say you need Jesus when God is love and your surrounded by love everyday .... ... In fact waking up breathing is a blessing in itself but people fall right back to worrying distracting themselves from the beauty you're surrounded by.... You need to release the Bs would be a more fitting statement than you need Jesus .... Release worry and allow love to enter ... No excuses

  • Phillybruh

Well you should worry when your waiting for some mythical man to fix your problems in the meantime when they were small problems they have ballooned waiting for GOD to work them out.

  • LuLu

Praying and then worrying is like telling God you can't carry the burden alone and then picking it back up again. Worrying doesn't solve ANYTHING- Matthew 6:27 Who of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his life span?

  • jeniefrumdabloc™

worry is not God bew it's ego ...always remember that.... we all experience this... know that you're loved and understood .... worry only keep you in a maze of fear... entrapment from the unknown .... Unknown is expansion .... expansion is God .. break worry get closer to source .... we love you... ??

  • Seek Truth Speak Truth

As I always say, getting married isn't the hard part; staying married is.
Keep God first and continually pray.

(I am speaking to myself as well)

  • http://batman-news.com Roderick2011

Another holy roller bites the dust.

  • Vonn

She is absolutely beautiful on that magazine cover. May her marriage be successful.

  • MookieFly

That was a lot to tell everybody. Some things I would want to keep behind closed doors. That dress is fire tho!

  • Tish

Amen! At least she is being honest. Others on here are battling other issues unknown. Judgmental people...

  • Ni Ni

She is doing the right thing by praying about it. She seems to have a solid foundation with the Lord; i hope hubby does as well.
i think she is built for it since she said i do, cause baby i would've ran for the hills once i found out he had a young child. I know I'm not step momma material ?.

  • Benita Renee’

    Yes she is!!!!

  • http://batman-news.com Roderick2011

She's on her second marriage and you think she has a solid foundation in God?

    Ha,ha,ha!!

  • http://batman-news.com Roderick2011

People already know what they want to hear.

    The praying is bs.

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

I'm convinced that people put way too much of their business on social media.

  • Ni Ni

The foundation is there. She (and all of us) have a choice to make a good or bad decision.

  • SayWhatNow?

I mean she could have written all that in her diary!

  • Noirluv45

I love the parental advice in this post. Being a parent isn't easy, so to teach those skills Sandra pointed out is huge for a child's development into adulthood.

I've always liked LeToya. I understand the worrying issue. No, we shouldn't worry, but yes, most of us do. It's a process. Remember, we still fight the flesh. It's a battle, so I'm not going to judge her worrying issue. It takes time and growth.

I wish her well in her marriage and I hope whatever she's dealing with, she'll find peace to go through it.

  • Noirluv45

That's the way of the world. I said this on a post the other day.

  • Seek Truth Speak Truth

Right, at least she knows to turn to God for guidance.

  • Ni Ni

    lol

  • Look@m3

why does his name annoys me!! like to the point I'm mad at his momma. I usually keep my comments about people name to myself but this one I can not hold it in any longer. Like I want to ask his mom a couple of questions....

  • MookieFly

But the only problem is, beyond what she puts on social media, her foundation could be cracked and riddled with mold. Stuntin for God on the gram will get you no accolades if the devotion isn't true at heart

  • Look@m3

Not the diary!!! Hunny social media is a modern day diary now....

  • Noirluv45

    Isn't that the truth.

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

I was just about to say the same thing. People don't use diaries or journals any more like they did back in the day. They just put their business on social media for all the world to see (and then criticize them & gossip about them). smh

  • Ni Ni

I keep trying to pronounce it differently in my head to make it make sense ?. I guess it could've have been his great-great-great grandfather's name they named him after.

  • Noirluv45

What gets me is that when people put something out on social media and people criticize them, they get mad. It's like, "You put it out there in the open for people to see. You should expect a myriad of responses."

  • jeniefrumdabloc™

every prayer is heard.... I do mean every .... But what folks fail to realize is .... Everything in your heart is heard.... you can pray all day... but if their is deceit their .... venegence.... fear .... sent up with that prayer automatically.... it shifts that prayer .... and creates a different response ...... praying is never BS but I do get what you are saying...... it's folks BS'ing God with the hidden intent behind that prayer..... Do folks think God or any of your ancestors are blind.... Like they don't know what folks do behind closed doors ....da fawk ? everything is heard.... and everything will receive a response ...as above so below.... what is sent up will return... if it's pure ... expect a pure answer ... if it is sent up void... expect that to return...

  • klwbaby

If she wrote in her diary, she wouldn't get the attention/ validation she is seeking.

  • Naomi

Lol I still write in my diary haha I don't like people in my business

  • Ni Ni

I agree about social media; it's like crack to some people.

  • Look@m3

Let me help you out here sis..... Getting married isn't the hard part; STAYING MARRIED IS. There if I could add an bullhorn emoji I would because I don't think the people in the back heard you...they just see the fairy tale wedding and cute lil babies.

  • Lanegra??

I thought she didn't marry the guy from the first engagement? Ugh I can't keep up.

  • Look@m3

Maybe that's why I'm annoyed because when I read the name I don't know what to say and I keep glossing over his name like he doesn't exist and its bothering me. You right it could be a grand parents name...I feel bad now.

  • klwbaby

To me it seems like she was expecting perfection. She thought everything would just fall into place, she will be the perfect wife and the perfect stepmother. Girl, u just got married. RELAX!!

  • Look@m3

LMAO....its all about attention these days! Lord what would happen if IG, Twitter and FB was taken away? What would the people do? Pay for billboards to let everyone know ....I kind of miss the old days! Where the only time you get to talk to your friends was on a landline or at school. You had to schedule your meet ups days in advance. You didn't have to worry about the whole world knowing you got beat up, just the people at school.

  • klwbaby

I had to delete some people off Facebook because they would talk about everything. One of my friends would post about starting her period and how much she is bleeding on a particular day.

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

Some of these names are funny to me. We need to have some kind of convention among our people where we can put a stop to some of these names we put on our kids. All the q's (Taniqua, Shaniqua, Shaquanda, Bomquisha...) all the -vious's (Montravious, Deltravious etc) all the la's (LaShawn, LaDavid, LaMarcus, LaKelvin) ... smh. ? ? #letsdobetter

  • http://batman-news.com Roderick2011

If you believe what you just typed you're as lost as she is.

    Goodnight.

  • Junkanoo

Reading her post it sounds like the inner ramblings of one's inner dialogue which is for one to work out with themselves over time. Well she better step her prayer game up cause 2018 seems like it will be another bad year

  • Tammie Reed

The wedding gown on the mag cover is spectacular, love it! I cant wear all that fabric but its lovely!

  • Noirluv45

Oh lawd, are you kidding? That's sick! No one needs to nor do they give a rat's behind about that. She might as well have posted a picture. That's next. SMH.

  • Ni Ni

Goodnight??? It's mawnin' you ole heathen?.

  • Noirluv45

Even though a parent has the "right" to name their children what they wish, I do cringe at some of the names I hear. ?

  • Ni Ni

    ? Disgusting, smh

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

I agree. Whether we like it or not, some names have a certain "hood" connotation to them, and it can hinder a child throughout their life. For example, I'm pretty sure we probably wont see a Montravious Washington or Shaquandria Jones reading the news on CNN anytime soon. The fact is, people do pre-judge you based on your name sometimes.

  • cherrypie

I think its normal to have doubts and fears. If God put it on her heart to speak out and encourage others to come to HIM in prayer then who are we to judge her for doing so. She has a large following and I for one needed the reminder to go to HIM with my doubts and fears. Some people put all their business on SM but this is something that I think a lot of people needed to hear. Life can be hard and you never know what a person is dealing with. I wouldn't be so quick to judge others.

  • cherrypie

Her gown is absolutely beautiful!! I love it!

  • http://www.beautyisland.weebly.com Indigo

Diaries should be kept private, and locked away.

  • klwbaby

I don't want to deal with my own period so why the hell did she think that was something that needed to be posted.

  • Noirluv45

Sadly, people are pre-judged based on their names. It's not their fault and to me it's wrong. Their name has nothing to do with who they are or their ability.

  • Noirluv45

You know! It's insane for her to think people wanna see that. I would've deleted her from my friend's list too.

  • AnotherBlackGirl

She wearing a beautiful wedding gown.

  • shun king

hope is not a good business strategy...nor is praying

  • Noirluv45

That's so true. You brought a different perspective.

  • Look@m3

Yeah there needs to be a study on this. I was told by a friend who worked in a day care that there were twins there named LaWasha and LaDryer. Like I don't understand this. I don't know if we just strive to be so different that we take over the edge, literally over the edge and don't know when to stand on the curb and just chill.

  • Noirluv45

Please tell me you are lying about LaWasha and LaDryer. No, I refused to believe someone could be that insane to name their poor children those names. I don't understand it either.

  • You Could Never

Majority of Folks dont complain about nonsense on social media. Repost and Retweet all the silly videos etc. This girl posts about her faith in her God and folks find exception. If the message not for you, move along

  • Seek Truth Speak Truth

Business and marriage are two separate things...

  • shun king

due to the fact majority of marriages end in divorce because of finances i have to disagree

  • Seek Truth Speak Truth

I can only speak for myself but getting married is one of the most challenging (yet rewarding) things I've ever done in my life. It is a lot of compromising and walking on faith. I have learned that even my husband cannot replace the love I need from God and I am learning to even give my husband love, I have to go straight to the source first to replenish the love I have for myself first. The idea of marriage is great and a blessing in God's sight, but many of us are too selfish and weak to be married. It's a lot of work and sacrifice because it isn't about one person nor is it flashy. It takes a lot of tolerance, patience and growth on both parties part. Le sigh!

  • KeepItG

At first I was like I’m not reading all that....?.but a lil voice said u should! Glad I did very inspiring and I definitely needed that msg! See how the devil work...didn’t want me to read that off assumption it would be pointless!

  • Mr.LeBrickJames

I can believe it. Nothing surprises me any more. I remember one of my wife's best friends telling us about her homegirl who named her daughter Cocaine (she pronounces it "co-sha-nay"). #truestory

  • Seek Truth Speak Truth

Every marriage has financial issues, even rich ones. Many end in divorce because people are selfish and do not want to compromise and do what is best for the family. Society has made it easy for people to divorce however, the bible is against divorces, especially on a frivolous thing like finances. I truly believe that if divorce wasn't an option then those cases, many would find a way to work it out. But because it is so easy, why bother?

  • Noirluv45

OMG! Seriously??? I have NO words. Lawd hamercy. SMH.

  • 2telldatruth

OMG!!!! The same thought here! I said....yep I needed that message too!!!

  • Seek Truth Speak Truth

LMBO @ the headline Sandy! You play too merch!

  • SpillyNillie

Fear/worry is a natural emotion- we all experience it. It doesn't make you a bad or ill-equipped person to acknowledge that you don't have all the answers. As for patience, we have all gone without so lets not judge.

  • TMW

Everyone has insecurities about something, sometimes. We’re supposed to “pray and don’t worry” but we “worry and don’t pray.” Same as if you start a new job or relationship or have a child - you always worry if you’re ready or good enough. It’s natural, but you’re not supposed to dwell on and make decisions based on fear. I think that’s all she’s saying.

  • TMW

    YES!

  • You Could Never

    Its sad.

  • shun king

also say till death do us part....

  • klwbaby

There was a story about a black female trying to get a job and she even though she was qualified for the job, they didn't hire her. So out of curiosity she asked why wasn't she hired. That man told her that her name was too difficult to pronounce so he just threw her résumé in the trash.

  • R Smith

LOL...I don't believe that! Asians are hired all the time with "difficult" names and they just use "Julie" or "Sue" - same w/black folks - We know how to improvise! That man is either crazy or got fired because no HR professional or manager would say that to a candidate...they might think it, but wouldn't say it!

  • shun king

so you agree with what i typed ?

  • Lovely1

LL overkill. Said this previously, but was a huge fan of hers. Always liked her nobility, demure nature, etc. Now, just a little too showy and "in your face" for me. She documents everything! Save something for yourself honey!

  • Lovely1

    Exxxxactly.

  • Ajavee

Not Cocaine? That poor child:-( Some people scar these children with these outrageous names.

  • Grow up

She could have kept that shit to herself and nobody would be speculating about her personal life. She does need to grow up. Nobody’s reading all that mess.

  • Mona

Oh! I have one for you, I’m a teacher and one of my student’s was named Robbin, last name Banks. I worry for his future.

  • C Mack

You can do a lot Sandra, but don't try to twist up somebody using God's love to inspire! So wrong of you to attack her marriage when that woman gave a testimony.

  • Renita

Have you, seen Sandra Rose? If you have you will know y lol

  • Alicia.Ashe

Nothing wrong with what she posted

  • Fire & Ice

I really like her, but it was toooo much. Chilllllldddd I decided not to read it, after seeing how long it was ?????.

  • Noirluv45

OK, I'm just done for sure. ?

  • Fire & Ice

Sandy and her shade ?. She was a stunning bride though. Simply beautiful ?

  • Zeta Phi Beta 1920

Ok. People do over share on social media. However, there is HEALING in Sharing & Connecting with others. Especially, with those who "get you".
I don't see the issue. I'm sure many identified with her and it provided Relief to know they are not the only one that is experiencing these thoughts and feelings.

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

Like she's trying to convince us.

  • http://batman-news.com Roderick2011

    And/or herself.

  • Prettybootnikki

That is a very beautiful dress and she looks amazing in it on that magazine cover. Just stunning.

  • http://batman-news.com Roderick2011

    Heathen?

    Is that you Aunt Ester?

  • A D N

Hmmm, Letoya has some type of emotional/mental disorder. I see what she attempted to do, but her faith isn't the issue.

  • ?Patty Kakes?

    This was very heart warming

  • Bashi22

Yes she was... sorry to compare her with Serena Williams with the most money and access

  • Bashi22

It’s because all her pairs in the industry are marrying so she don’t want to be left out. She wasn’t like that before so public but now she’s sharing everything

  • Fire & Ice

Yeah Toya was stunning. Every single detail!

  • yvette46

    This child is bonkers!!

  • Patricia

sounds like aimless rambling thoughts we dont need to know about

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

Yep! Same here. Her message made me smile. People are always trying to find the negative, in someone else's trails and tribulations.

"They're weak, dumb, stupid, a loser" is what some say, without really paying attention, to the lesson.

Satan stays busy and one of the tools he uses, is making us ignore truth, through distractions and impatience.

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

    That was beautifully true!

    Her gown is breathtaking.

  • C Mack

Trash reply. Trash person probably. My bad I typed what I was thinking

  • C Mack

And hating on someone else's faith and questioning their relationship with God gets you accolades? Y'all kill me?

  • C Mack

To YOU! My bad for calling you trash I see your objective now. If you don't believe why come here to be condescending to those who do?

No one wants to have their beliefs demeaned. That's really uncool of you, dude. No disrespect to you

  • C Mack

She needs to grow up but you didn't read what she posted. How can you say anything against her when you didn't even hear her out. Just letting your Auntie think for ya?

  • C Mack

There was definitely a point to her post

  • C Mack

    Right!!! Thank you

  • C Mack

Her marriage isn't a business though?

  • C Mack

Majority of marriages end due to infidelity ; do some research before you speak in absolutes, playa.

  • shun king

naw you go do some research you idiot

  • C Mack

I did that's why I corrected you. Get out of your feelings and accept that you were wrong. Calling someone an idiot doesn't make you smarter. Mad b/c you got called out lol

  • Malcom Flex

If praying worked black women would be living better less obese and married to the male who pump and dump 'em

  • shun king

ok show me the link dude you have not called me out at all

  • C Mack
  • shun king

like i said you are an idiot

  • C Mack

That's just one bro. Stop acting like a sociopath and calling me out of my name. Just be cool. Exercise maturity

  • MookieFly

I honestly wish I got recognition for my hard work. Thank you kind sir ?

  • Y’all Jealous Cuz I’m Prudy

This is more of an inspirational " trust in God" and "walk with faith" statement by her, then a negative "put all my business out there" statement.

  • Ni Ni

    Yep ?

  • ?Royalty?

I think any person would have these worries, whether they married to soon or their best friend of 4 years. *shrug*

  • Kita Williams

    she didn't
