Foxy Brown wants a ticker tape parade in her honor

Rapper Foxy Brown wants fans to give her a ticker tape parade when she’s released from Riker’s Island this Friday (4/18). We can hardly believe this is true, but we are talking about Foxy:

Rapper Foxy Brown is calling on her fans to give her a rapturous greeting when she leaves New York’s Riker’s Island Prison on Friday (18Apr08). The star – real name Inga Marchand – has served eight months of a 12-month sentence for violating her probation by manhandling two manicurists. She will be set free this week and wants fans waving banners and wearing Foxy Brown T-shirts to be waiting for her in the parking lot of the notorious correctional facility. Marchand plans to capture the scenes on film, to use in her forthcoming reality VH1 TV show, which will show her adjusting to life as a free woman.

Ok, I don’t wanna turn this into a crazy post, but Bird…why was Lil’ Kim settling by having her show on BET?

I’m posing this question because I just read a post on the Soul Train Music awards being cancelled possibly indefinitely because they don’t get any support from the same people that they acknowledge for their accomplishments…..Black People. MOST of the people that won awards last year didn’t even show up. That’s a darn shame. It’s a shame that we allow ourselves to believe that one show is better than another because of who runs it. Now the grammys…ok, it’s known to be one of the biggest awards you can win. But if we can show up to the MTV Music awards, then why can’t we show up to the Soul Train Music awards? If we could all come together like “they” do and stop knocking each other down we could be so much more powerful…but hey…it’s not totally our fault. We’ve been brainwashed subliminally in some ways to think the way that we do.
