For those of you who missed the premiere of THE SINGLE: MONICA which aired tonight on Peachtree TV, here are a few screen shots I made. When I find a link to the show I will post it.

Unfortunately, “Still Standing” is not the first single. Which is probably for the best, because while Monica’s vocals were sooo on point, the track itself wasn’t hitting on nothing.

I’m sorry, but B. Cox is all wrong for this project – as was Jermaine Dupri on the last record. What Mo needs is a producer/songwriter who understands real music – not these children playing behind the boards with their computerized fruity loops or whatever you call that mess.

As one of Mo’s true fans put it:

“Monica, we need neyo soul!!!! Soul R&B. Not pop music over Hip & B Lyrics.”

I still have faith that Mo will deliver a great album though. She sounded so good in the studio! I’m praying that she hooks up with a Ne-Yo or a Denise Rich or even a Babyface. All Mo needs is a hit single and she’ll be back on top where she rightfully belongs!

Sandra Im glad you posted this cause I live In South Carolina and I didn’t see it. I am a Monica Fan and no singer can touch her, she is the best female artist. I am happy for Monica, it doesnt matter if Rocko paid for it or not they are together and she is happy. If you didn’t know they have been together for 7 or 8 years if you were a Monica fan you would have know this.She has two beautiful children and she is trying to do right by them can you all give her a break.

I don’t see why all the negative comments on her and Rocko…yall commenting on the house not being “theirs” yall commenting on her mentioning her being a fiancee and etc. I mean is it that serious? It’s known that Rocko had money before his album dropped so why all the hate? And it sounds like she was just simply speaking on all aspects of her life…singing, being a mother and being engaged. I mean her interactions with Rocko are included on the show so what’s the big deal? Geez…I just really don’t like when people make assumptions about relationships that they know nothing about first hand.

that being said, Monica is FLAT OUT gorgeous. Even in the shots where she’s “dressed down”, she looks like a model. her face is just breathtaking.

I really hope she has her stuff together on this cd. I miss her voice- it’s been amazing since she was that little girl w/ the big voice.

Aww yall are so wrong for saying its her house LOL!!! That man has real estate and other side hustles..I’m sure he had money to put on the downpayment of the house and qualify for the mortgage loan. Long as you have a 580 or above credit score, they can qualify for FHA or any conventional loan..even with bad credit..money talks.

He makes a couple thousand per show so Im sure 1 or 2 performances on top of his residuals from his real estate properties can pay for the 3K to 5K a month mortgage payment. This is Atlanta, it aint hard to get a big house and pay the note on that sucka if you got two people bringing in a decent amount of money per month.

@ Lucy, I wasn’t questioning why people were giving their opinions I just said why all the negativity on little things that were pointed out. I know this is a blog where opinions are welcomed and I was just simply stating mine.

Sandra I like still standing. I think that track is FIRE, although I did like it more whe Adontist was just humming the melody before they laid down the track, but I think it’s a great comeback single for Monica and the Luda edition only helped….oh well.

I watched this, and i’m aware of creative editing, but Monica really did come across as a single mom. Her children are gorgeous though!

And Bryan Micheal Cox has a big old head, damn! He was not visually pleasing AT ALL. Actually all of the little music making crew were some ugmos!

Hi Sandra, I’m glad this was made available. I live in NC. This show was actually alright. There were several moments that I cried right along qith her. Especially when Lil Rocko said, “I wanna ride”. AWWW. But the songwriter Adonis, really hit the nail on the hammer with that song. At the end of the day, Monica is still standing.

Monica never fell. So why does she need a song that says she’s still standing? That was Adonis’ interpretation of Monica’s life. But he’s never walked in her shoes. He made Mo sound like she can’t let go of the past. That’s not the strong young woman that I know. I’ve been through my share of ups and downs, but I don’t feel the need to announce that I’m still standing because I never fell.
