NBA star Kobe Bryant, 34, and his wife Vanessa Bryant attended EIF Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s 16th Annual “An Unforgettable Evening” event presented by Saks Fifth Avenue at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Thursday, May 2, in Beverly Hills. Bryant had surgery on his left foot after tearing his Achilles’ tendon. According to a report in today’s online edition of USA Today, Bryant and his mother are feuding after she put some of his personal items up for auction.
From USA Today:
Goldin Auctions of West Berlin wants to sell more than 100 items from the Los Angeles Lakers’ pro career and his days as a high school player in suburban Philadelphia. The keepsakes — including uniforms, rings and trophies — would be offered on consignment for Pamela Bryant, the athlete’s mother.
But Kobe Bryant is trying to block the planned June auction, insisting he owns the memorabilia. The dispute moved to a federal court in Camden Thursday, when an attorney for the auction house requested a court order to allow the sale.
The filing noted Goldin Auctions already has paid a $450,000 advance to Pamela Bryant, who wanted to buy a new home in Nevada.
It’s such a shame when a famous family airs their dirty laundry in public over money.
If Bryant could pay $4 million for a ring for his wife after he was caught cheating on her, he can certainly spring for a new home for his dear mother? Children are so ungrateful.
