Film producer, and friend of the blog, Will Packer proposed to his longtime love, Heather, in a major way over the weekend. Packer, who is currently producing Think Like a Man Too in Vegas, surprised Heather by dropping to one knee in front of 40,000 at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.
“We actually met four years ago, here at ESSENCE. I need y’all to help me out,” Will asked the crowd as he brought his girlfriend out onstage. “Heather, you’ve changed my life. I love you so much. You make me happier than words can express,” said Will as the audience roared.
Will presented Heather with a custom 10K diamond ring as she wiped the tears from her eyes. “She said yes ya’ll!!” said Will after Heather stopped jumping up and down.
Congrats to the happy couple! 4 years is surely long enough for the Dopamine to wear off. Read the full text of Packer’s heartfelt proposal to Heather after the break.
From Jubilee magazine:
“Heather, you’ve changed my life. I Love you so much. You make me happier than words can express. I can’t think of no other way to tell you that than right now in front of all these people.” [He drops to one knee]. “Will you be Mrs. Packer for the rest of your life?!” [After a brief pause of joyous shock, she started jumping up and down, grabbed the mic and screamed YES!!] He placed the ring on her finger, stood up and screamed, “She said yes ya’ll!!”
Packer and his business partner Rob Hardy founded production company Rainforest Films in 1994. Together they produced dozens of popular urban films including Stomp the Yard (2007), Three Can Play That Game (2008), and the original Think Like A Man (2012).
Performers who took to the stage at the 3-day festival included Keyshia Cole, New Edition, Solange Knowles, Faith Evans, Jody Watley, Big Daddy Kane, Trey Songz and Janelle Monae.
