The lesser known daughter of Reverend Joseph Simmons is pregnant with a girl. Vanessa Simmons, sister of Angela Simmons, posted a sonogram of her fetus on her Instagram page today. Vanessa, 30, starred on her father’s hit reality TV show, Run’s House. She later went on to run a successful sneaker line with her sister, Angela, who tweeted: “I’m going to be an aunty.” Vanessa keeps a low profile and she is rarely seen publicly with men. It’s a mystery who the father is.
Update: Black Twitter says the father of Vanessa’s fetus is Michael Wayans, whose father is comedian Damon Wayans.

OH He has been on tv;Mike has acted in Blankman, a 1994 movie. Wayans next appeared in a TV series, “My Wife & Kids” (2001 to 2003) and played a character named Mike. Wayans continued in TV appearances as himself, in “Daddy’s Girls” (2009). Wayans’ next movie was “Dance Flick”, released in 2009.

@ caramel, the only reason I brought up the fact that she wasn’t married is because she’s a preacher’s kinds. Preachers and their families are supposed to help set the example of moral & spiritual living. Having children without being married is fine by some society standards, but the bible is really specific on the topic and the scriptures don’t change even if society does. ijs . Only God can judge, so I wish her baby health and happiness
100% usa made!, Oh I agree. . I am in no way endorsing or cosigning out of wedlock babies b/c I think kids should be born to married parents; it is scripture. Times are changing and for some reason people think it’s cute to have babies and not be married, which is totally not cool and should NOT be the norm.

Believing in God and obeying His word works as long as it’s convenient for the person and they don’t have to come out of their comfort zone. No judgment to Vanessa/baby daddy, just an observation/my opinion.

to the SR family. A woman’s best childbearing years are late teens through their 20s. That way mothers are young enough to raise their children and then help to raise their grandchildren after age 30. Having a baby too late — age 30s and 40s — puts mothers at risk of strokes, eclampsia, miscarriages, etc. Late childbirth also increases the chances that the child will bury her mother when the child is in her 30s or 40s. I hope this helps.

Vanessa shouldn’t be judged based on her father’s calling/occupation. Being a preacher’s kid only defines her father’s calling not hers. Rev Run is the preacher. HIS calling doesn’t make me look at Vanessa any differently now that she’s pregnant. He can only raise her in faith but can’t live her life or force her to live exactly by the Word. Just my thoughts…
Her being a preacher’s kid AND unwed AND pregnant is no different than any other single lady having kids without a husband. It’s all the same in God’s eye.

I’ve been a fan of your blog for years and have been posting for about a year now. I get it from a medical/factual stand point. But I also see the benefits of waiting to have children when one is deemed as more “established”, like mid 30’s or so. So with this we’ll agree to disagree but I appreciate your response.

Some people will never understand the importance of having healthcare. I have a ex friend who is that way, drives me crazy. She got teenage kids who need health care but she won’t get it, talking bout what I need that for. Folks get so accustomed to somebody else fronting their hospital bills they don’t want to take
on the responsibility. If they go to the ER and don’t pay the bill we end up picking up the bill when we go to the doc or the ER, that cost is passed on to the insured. People who can’t afford insurance is one thing but people who have the opportunity to get it, like my ex friend, and won’t make me wanna go completely and promptly all the way off.
On a side note, I thank God I am able to work this morning. I don’t know about tomorrow or any day after but as of right now this government agency is up and running.
