Bravo Network released the trailer for Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s upcoming Season 7. Apparently cast member Porsha Williams has outlived her usefulness on the scripted TV show. She will only appear in occasional scenes. That’s probably due to the fact that she’s contractually obligated to co-host Dish Nation’s syndicated TV show with radio host Rickey Smiley.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry and other officials told a news conference Wednesday that the man with the first case of Ebola diagnosed in the United States had contact up to 18 people, including “some school-age children.”
“The children have been identified and they are being monitored,” the governor said.

Dr. Christopher Perkins, with the Dallas Dept. of Health and Human Services, said that there were five people in the patient’s immediate household and then about 12-18 other “contacts,” all of whom would be monitored closely for 21 days.
Officials said five students at four different schools, two elementary schools, a middle school and a high school, had had contact with the patient over the weekend. They are currently being “monitored” at home, but are not quarantined. The schools are still open.
The victim, a Liberian man visiting the Dallas area, is being treated at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Perry was joined by Dr. David Lakey, commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services.
“They have a whole ward that’s dedicated to the care of this individual,” said Lakey. “Professionals who are very competent and are doing it in a safe environment with compassionate care.” He also reiterated that the disease can only be spread by direct contact with bodily fluids of a sick patient, whose condition was given as serious but stable.
“This is not West Africa, this is a very sophisticated city, a very sophisticated hospital,” said Lakey. “The chances of it being spread are very, very small.”
“This is all hands on deck,” said Perry. “We understand that, and we’ve got great local partners, and everyone has their marching orders and understands the importance of good collaborations good partnering from the local level all the way up to the CDC.”
Blood tests by state and federal health officials confirmed the Ebola diagnosis Tuesday. The man recently flew from Liberia to Dallas to be with relatives.

The patient actually first went to the hospital when he felt sick on Sept. 24, but was allowed to go home, and was then transported back by ambulance on Sept. 28.
Dr. Mark Lester, an executive with the hospital, said despite a nurse using a Ebola check list to diagnose the man, that the patient was allowed to go home because the first team that assessed him felt he had “a low-grade common viral disease.”
He refused to characterize the move as a “misstep” but said that the procedures taken were being investigated.

A Chicago-area sperm bank is being sued by an Ohio woman for mistakenly giving her vials from an African-American donor, reports the Chicago Tribune.
Jennifer Cramblett, who is white, filed a lawsuit stating that Midwest Sperm Bank gave her the vials of a black man instead of the white man she and her partner had chosen. Documents show that Cramblett and her partner, Amanda Zinkon, chose donor No. 380, who is white. However, they were sent the sperm from donor No. 330, who is black.
When the couple ordered more vials so that they could have more children using sperm from the original white donor they claim they requested, it was then that they realized the initial donor didn’t match the one they requested. But by then, Cramblett was pregnant.
Cramblett is suing the sperm bank for “wrongful birth and breach of warranty, citing the emotional and economic losses she has suffered,” the Tribune reports.
The lawsuit states, “On August 21, 2012, Jennifer gave birth to Payton, a beautiful, obviously mixed-race baby girl. Jennifer bonded with Payton easily and she and Amanda love her very much. Even so, Jennifer lives each day with fears, anxieties and uncertainty about her future and Payton’s future.”
Cramblett and her partner have stated that there are challenges to raising Payton in the small, virtually all-white town of Uniontown, Ohio. Cramblett stated in the lawsuit that she was raised in a community that held racially intolerant beliefs about people of color. Cramblett did not meet any black Americans until she attended college. The lawsuit states that it is because of her upbringing that “Jennifer acknowledges her limited cultural competency relative to African-Americans and steep learning curve, particularly in small, homogenous Uniontown, which she regards as too racially intolerant.”
One of the couple’s concerns involves getting Payton’s hair done. It requires Cramblett to travel to a black community where she is “not overtly welcome.”
Further, Cramblett is concerned about her family, which the lawsuit states is an “all white and unconsciously insensitive family.” The lawsuit goes on to say, “Though compelled to repress her individuality amongst family members, Payton’s differences are irrepressible, and Jennifer does not want Payton to feel stigmatized or unrecognized due simply to the circumstances of her birth. Jennifer’s stress and anxiety intensify when she envisions Payton entering an all-white school.”
Cramblett’s therapist has suggested that she and her partner move to a more racially diverse area for the now 2-year-old child’s psychological health.
