Seattle Seahawks star Richard Sherman is a new father. Sherman’s girlfriend, Ashley Moss gave birth to the couple’s first child on Thursday, Feb. 5. The 26-year-old cornerback announced the happy news on his Twitter account.
“My son sure does know how to make an entrance! 2/5/15… Is it a coincidence or is he just that clever?! Either way I’m ecstatic” he tweeted.
MMQB.com’s Peter King said the couple’s child is named Rayden K. Sherman.
Sherman’s much older girlfriend went into labor early. Her expected delivery date was Feb. 12.
Moss told KING 5-TV in Washington that she was surprised when her pregnancy made front page headlines.
“We didn’t expect it to be such a national story,” she said.
The couple reportedly met on Instagram.com in 2013.
