Oprah Winfrey shared photos and video on social media of the mudslides that affected her multimillion dollar Montecito, Calif. home. 15 people are dead and hundreds are still awaiting rescue in their homes in the wealthy enclave, west of downtown Los Angeles.

The mudslides swept away homes and injured dozens of residents. The damage to Oprah's property was limited to her orange trees and a fence separating her property from her neighbor.

Oprah thanked her social media followers for their concerns and prayers:

"Thanks everyone for your prayers and concern," Oprah wrote in the video caption. "My property is fine. Some mud, and minor damage that pales in comparison to what my neighbors are going thru. #mudslides".

  • NOPE!

Her yard, when people lost their homes. screw oprah, and NO she will not
be president in this lifetime. So her, gayle and stedman can stop with the

  • iWasteTime

So Oprah has replaced Bey huh?!?!
    Damn it

  • i troll it like i see it

Call me crazy but I think she's going to be ok.

  • Breitbart_Savior

    Lol. So much anger.

  • Coco_Butter

I think that’s insensitive for her to show the damage to her home when people have lost their lives and entire homes.

She’s worth billions and can replace any overly priced furniture she bought easily.

She doesn’t have to haggle with insurance companies for a repair or replacement to their home or her life.
Oprah take a L for this

  • KLo

your just mad because your #jerk-off-in-the-wh is dumb as sheesh

  • SpiceGirl

smh...why folks mad at O for doing what EVERYONE else does?(speaking on it via SM) I know she owns the BANKs...but she human like the rest of us....

  • Yoni7

THANK YOU! I was about to say, the media reports the same thing. They are probably going to do a report on OPRAH herself, using HER video AND HER very own words. So why are people mad that she basically beat them to it?

RIP to the victims that lost their lives.

  • jazmine

I don't think she's actually insinuating her yard damage is anywhere near people losing their lives, just showing how bad the mud slides truly were. Whats the big deal

  • SpiceGirl

    right...RIP to the victims....and you know what I always....a pair of lips will say anything. : }

  • SweetTEE

Girl you got all the money in the world to repair it..

  • Soda

There were several stories featured, Oprah's was just one of them. What, you think because she has money she deserves this and it didn't affect her?

  • MissHarlem

So what I gather is if you have the means you can't relate to anything devastating to you or others surrounding you. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/64d12b3e163751f4ed932fc74d1d0ddb768ba693f7b355ebd449f904cb5cf71e.gif

  • Yoni7

    Won't they!

  • Yoni7

Nope. And if you DON'T have the means, you can't sit with them either.

  • SpiceGirl

    you know it....

  • Yoni7

And THIS concludes this post for the day. Thank you. NEXT POST!

  • Yoni7

Is it insensitive for YOUR evening and world news to report on it today, tomorrow, and the next day until it's cleaned up?

    What do YOU suggest?

  • MissHarlem

    SMH ?

  • guest

    She'll be fine.

  • SpillyNillie

Poor Cali cant catch a break...

  • ReadingIsFundamental4Real

Love that she refocused on the people around her.

  • Elevated Soul

Oooh Weeee....Make-up does wonders for women like Oprah. She must have that stuff several layers thick because she looks very different and older without it.

  • justlooking

That's too bad for her and good for the workers that will restore it. CYCLE OF LIFE.

  • Quagsire!

So sorry to see O and others go through this.
In other news, who is O’s makeup artist?! They make miracles happen!

  • TMW

She looks like an old lady. Filters, airbrushing and makeup, oh my!

NOT mad just realistic. Oprah loves YT more than YOU.

  • Yoni7

What you say, he's (I can't remember his name) a MAGICIAN! LOL

  • justlooking

NOPE, no anger here. Oprah ain't shit, you think she is
because she made 1 billion dollar mark, thats because
she kissed lots of white ass and still does, and BTW she
knew about her close friend Harvey Weinstein"........

  • OP2

Years of getting rich off of drill-baby-drill to FRACK for oil from San Diego to Beverly Hills. It has left the land underneath very unstable from man-made earthquakes due to fracking. -think about what that means for Haiti & all their earthquake issues due to successful oil drilling near their island. Not so much as a curse as most of their issues & constraints are man-made. ijs

  • Toni ToniToni

GIRL, I was thinking the same thing. Glad I didn't have to say it. Cause compared to what I saw the other night, it looks like a completely diff person. WOWSERS!

  • Yoni7

  • OP2

You know there are Black folks, emotionally blinded by their own issues, who likes to take things out of context & go off on a tangent. lol

  • Be careful

Oprah better carry her old self in before she slips and falls in that mud.

  • She’s in her 60s

That woman is in her 60s! Let’s see how you’ll look when you’re her age. She looks fine.

  • She IS old

She is old! How do you think you’ll look when you’re in your 60s. It’s a sad day when people make fun of the looks of people in their 60s.

  • http://www.pureromance.com LA

  • http://www.pureromance.com LA

She does look fine for 60, but she looks GREAT with makeup!

  • Mister Fantastic

This is wrong. That's Whoppie Goldberg right?

  • tt

Oprah !!!!! Gul you out there in that yard looking like Sophia !!

  • Evillene

I've seen such hate directed at Oprah elsewhere because of these photos. People can be so cruel and callous when they envy what someone else has. Oprah grew up in poverty in Mississippi. Everything she has she has earned through hard work and talent. She made a beautiful home for herself in Montecito and even though I know she has resources to restore and improve it I still feel for her loss. I get unsettled when a computer crashes or an appliance wears out even though I know I can substantially restore my loss. This kind of loss takes a toll on your well-being. She's unimaginably rich but she's still a human being.

  • Tennessean

I was just asking why sophia, why? I thought her eye was swollen.

  • Indies beauty

Lol I thought you were being shady with the thumbnail but Oprah posted it herself. Lol okay Oprah do you boo.

  • Tennessean

humble post. don't worry about Oprah because she is good. Her neighbors need prayers and the families of the 15 people that died. gj.

  • Blue

I admire a person like Oprah. She came from poverty, worked hard, followed her passion and dream and created an empire. She comes across as a humble, genuine person as well.

  • Jack Blakk

Oprah, I told you that was too much yard makeup for the Globe awards show now look!

  • TheOwley

The focus should be on the 15 dead, missing, or stranded. Material things can be replaced.

  • Junkanoo

None are immuned to natural disasters ,this year may be bad because there claims the earths rotation is slowing down which will cause more earthquakes hoping this isn't the case

  • the guest

Someone please explain to me what is going on in California. Wildfires, mudslides, flu fatalities. Has the governor of California declared a crisis?

  • Dowoop

And she is one of the people who will have no issues replacing them.

  • the guest

I love how Oprah is honest in showing herself without makeup, in hair curlers, dressed own. She shows how we all glam up for life.

  • TMW

It’s just shocking I think!. She looked great at the Golden Globes on Monday. She does look fine, but it is a dramatic difference.

  • Ms.Vanilla

Oprah is my girl! This video looks like she was just letting us see what happened to her back yard. Regardless of what people say about her that woman is generous with her money not like some of these YT tight wads who never give anything to anybody except their families. Oprah has never forgotten where she came from. I love that woman!!!

  • Ms.Vanilla

    "cackles"... you wrong for that!

  • den

Boy filters and makeup do wonders

a land where humans shouldn't live.. lol. that's all

    she looks fine..

  • Peace

This looks horrible O........sorry, the clone must have attended the globe in her place. Even Stedman was there holding her hand. lol. I can't. Just a hard throwback from her glamorous appearance on Sunday just 3 days ago. ummm. Wow

  • Skin Deep Beauty

    DAYUM O'!!! Right night huh!

  • leapyearpisces

This is so eerie. Right hand to GOD, I just discovered / reading the story of Omarya Sanchez, and now this. She was a 13 year old girl who died when the of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano erupted causing mudslides etc., and somehow her legs were pinned in her house. She stayed alive for 60 hours and rescue workers were by her side, but NO ONE could move her, and the doctor's said that they didn't have what they needed to support amputating her legs, and letting her die would be more humane. Anyway, read for yourself. VERY interesting and sad, but it is a MUST READ. Many pictures have been done of her, and the photographer who took the picture below won some big time prize or something. You can also look up "Omayra Sanchez eyes".

  • Quitedeliteful

LOLLOLLOL!!!!!! I'm trying not to laugh but damn this is hard!!!

  • Li

This is so ironic, because I remember when Oprah left Chicago for LA - which she had to do - but she complained that Chicago was too cold....and she went to the disaster state in the disaster neighborhood. While we Chicagoans are here in the cold, safe and sound. Just saying.
I'm sorry for what's happening to the folks in CA, I have family there but they're not effected. They're not in the hills. I dunno...God has a way of saying Don't Build in those hills, but Americans (wealthy Amerns) just can't resist.

  • leapyearpisces

Who you telling? I still don't understand how / why no one couldnt do anything. :-(

  • Ang

-Montecito is over 100 miles from Los Angeles.
    - Oprah will be fine. There are regular people around southern CA wondering if they will have a place to live and 15 people who lost their lives.

  • Ang

All of those things except the flu outbreak happen every year.

  • Ang

God? Fire fighters tell people in person not to build in some (not all) of those neighborhoods and they do it anyway.

  • Shirley Baker

  • dontgetblocked

Awww! The fence and some trees on her 100 million dollar estate were damaged. Let's take up a collection for poor Oprah. Get the hell out of here.

  • the guest

And people don't get the message? Unreal.

  • Readytochokemothernatureout

Ms. O has a BEAUTIFUL heart and spirit.

West of downtown Los Angeles? LOL, Montecito is no where near Downtown Los Angeles. At least 2 hours (80+ miles) away without traffic. Work on your write ups

    Pretty much

  • free

now oprah's hair is in it's natural state.

  • free

it tells the story and it's kinda complicated how she was trapped.

  • free

for the love of GOD!! they should have given her a sedative and knocked her out so that she could go peacefully!!!

  • Look@m3

This is BS and disturbing and it makes me mad! I don't even know what to say about this story. I don't think I could be a journalist and interview someone in this condition especially a child. This would haunt the hell out of me. No one deserves an award for anything regarding this childs death!

Like the only help was to get her story out ...ugh

  • leapyearpisces

I agree. I still don't understand how NOTHING couldn't be done for her. Like Free said, at the very least sedate her, and euthanize her. Even pets at the vet have been able to die better deaths.

  • leapyearpisces

That is so true. They could have euthanized her.

  • Jethro

What's she supposed to do, not share her experiences because she's a wealthy celebrity? It's the first time you've posted about it, so her speaking on it obviously made you take notice. When will Trump chime in?

  • Elevated Soul

    ??You sound triggered??

Let me guess...You're one of those types who feel you need make-up because like Oprah you look bad without it.

My Grandmother's are 69 & 70 and both look younger than Oprah without any make-up. The bottom line is that she wears layer upon layers of makeup and I might add the foundation is lighter that what she really is....

  • Brenda Dennis

    How awfully sad.

  • leapyearpisces

Yeah, I know. I mean read this in detail, even where they said her aunt's had gripped her legs and rigor mortis set in and on top of being trapped the aunts grip was on her legs and couldn't be removed. It just was tragic overall, but I think all things considered, you had the best approach with sedating her, because TO ME, it still seems like the poor child suffered.

  • LadyL

  • She IS old

Oh no honey I’m not triggered. I’m just not an asshole. Your grandparents may look better than Oprah to YOU, but others may talk about them the same way you’re talking about Oprah. Few people in their 60s and 70s are walking around here looking fresh faced. This has nothing to do with ME and everything to do with YOU. Unlike you, I respect my elders. Who knows what might happen to you, or me, between now and 60, and how your appearance might be affected. In short, watch your mouth.

  • Quitedeliteful

She has the look of someone who knows nothing can be done to help them...

After that speech deflection is needed.

  • Mastermind

    Man, makeup can do wonders.
