The mother of a skirt-wearing teenage boy who raped a girl in a Loudon County, Virginia school bathroom says her son is a troubled boy who just wanted sex.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, the mother, who asked not to be identified, said her son is not a male-to-female transgender.

“He’s a 15-year-old boy that wanted to have sex in the bathroom, with somebody that was willing,” she said. “And they’re twisting this just enough to make it a political hot button issue.”

“He would wear a skirt one day and then the next day, he would wear jeans and a t-shirt, a Polo or hoodie. He was trying to find himself and that involved all kinds of styles. I believe he was doing it because it gave him attention he desperately needed and sought.”

She acknowledged her son’s deviant, predatory behavior that included sending nude photos of himself to a girl in fifth grade.

The story made headlines after outraged parent Scott Smith, the father of the rape victim, was dragged out of a school board meeting with a bloodied mouth on June 22.

Initially, it was reported that Smith was protesting critical race theory being taught at the school. He was mocked online and his photos went viral on social media.

Then Smith told his story — that he confronted school board officials over the brutal rape of his daughter by a transgender child.

Former President Barack Obama weighed in on the controversy by dismissing the rape as a “Phony, Trumped-Up Culture War.”

School officials initially denied knowing that a girl had been sexually assaulted in the school bathroom.

It was then revealed that the same boy raped another girl in the bathroom at a school where he was secretly transferred.

On October 25, a judge found the boy guilty of the May 28 “forcible sodomy and forcible fellatio” rape of the girl. He is awaiting sentencing.
